Yet another Visa points question...

Recommended Posts

I was trying to hold out for a free cruise on points but with the BOGOHO perpetual "sale" and my next cruise in 3 weeks :D, the OBC is tempting.

If I cash in points for OBC but don't spend it all, will I get the money back?

Should I put a different card down for our room?

TIA!

You need to use it or lose it

Any OBC received from redeeming Visa points is completely refundable. Any unused portion can be returned to you in cash from Guest Services on the day prior to debarkation.

If you don't cash it out, then it will go back on to your BofA credit card as an RCI credit transaction and you will lose double points. I always take ours out in cash. Edited by cruisenfever
Better yet... dump the RC Visa and open a Barclays Arrival Mastercard. Gives yoiu 2 points for ALL dollars spent, plus a 10% refund of points when you spend them. Adds up fast.
Is there an annual fee for this card?
If I have OBC left over near the end of the cruise (a rare occurrence), I take cash out at the casino. Yes, there's a fee (5%?) but it's free money anyway.
That's exactly what we do. Once we were burned with a promise of refunded OBC to our card and it never materialized. I have no issue paying 5% to get the "free" money. Sometimes we can get it from guest services, but if not, then we head to the casino. A bird in the hand.....
I've had the card or 4 years and have never paid a fee?????
I only use it to pay for cruises and cruise accounts.
The fee being discussed on here is if you cash out OBC on the ship at the casino they charge a 5% service fee. It is not a fee associated with the credit card.
