drmomsc Posted March 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2015 I was trying to hold out for a free cruise on points but with the BOGOHO perpetual "sale" and my next cruise in 3 weeks :D, the OBC is tempting. If I cash in points for OBC but don't spend it all, will I get the money back? Should I put a different card down for our room? TIA!

If you don't cash it out, then it will go back on to your BofA credit card as an RCI credit transaction and you will lose double points. I always take ours out in cash. cruiseguy1016 Posted March 8, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 8, 2015
You need to use it or lose it
This is incorrect. OBC from Visa points is the same as putting cash on your account. If you don't use it, it will be refunded.

Grand PooBah Posted March 8, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 8, 2015 Better yet... dump the RC Visa and open a Barclays Arrival Mastercard. Gives yoiu 2 points for ALL dollars spent, plus a 10% refund of points when you spend them. Adds up fast.

FLACRUISER99 Posted March 8, 2015 #9 Share Posted March 8, 2015
Is there an annual fee for this card?
Yes, however you get the 1st year free and the extra points (cash) you get will easily pay for the card. Another plus is no foreign transaction fees.
Janet524 Posted March 8, 2015 #10 Share Posted March 8, 2015 If I have OBC left over near the end of the cruise (a rare occurrence), I take cash out at the casino. Yes, there's a fee (5%?) but it's free money anyway.

I have no issue paying 5% to get the "free" money. Sometimes we can get it from guest services, but if not, then we head to the casino. A bird in the hand..... molly361 Posted March 8, 2015 #13 Share Posted March 8, 2015
I've had the card or 4 years and have never paid a fee????? I only use it to pay for cruises and cruise accounts.
The fee being discussed on here is if you cash out OBC on the ship at the casino they charge a 5% service fee. It is not a fee associated with the credit card.
