georgiaguy Posted March 11, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) When we fly to Miami we will leave weather that is in the upper 30's, lower 40's. When landing it is supposed to be in the lower 80's. How does one dress for the trip? Edited March 11, 2015 by georgiaguy
CruiserBruce Posted March 11, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 11, 2015 Layers. And change in the first restroom when you get off the plane. This is what we do when we fly from Northern California to Hawaii in the winter.
JohninDC Posted March 11, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 11, 2015 My brother swears by those pants that zip the legs off and become shorts - I think they look silly. :p
BlueHerons Posted March 11, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2015 Leave your coats in the car at the airport and run to the airport in a sweater or sweatshirt. Bring a change of clothes in your carry on and change on the plane. It's hot here. We are done with what little winter we had. Even the airport is hot a sticky at baggage claim because the doors are constantly opening.
georgiaguy Posted March 11, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted March 11, 2015 Only problem is I am taking public transportation and at my transfer I will likely be outside for 10-15min as long as things are running on time and if not it could be longer. eandj Posted March 12, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 12, 2015 We do this all the time from Wisconsin. It's not a big deal arriving in FL in heavier clothes. It's not like you can't take the layers off when you arrive. ;) Once in FL we head to our hotel and change...always carrying a warm weather outfit in our carryon in case our luggage is delayed or our room isn't ready. Don't sweat it! :p It's not like you can't ever eventually get into those shorts.
ericosmith Posted March 12, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 12, 2015 Rain jacket over a fleece over a tshirt. The rain jacket comes off in the departure airport and the fleece comes off after landing.
