Mariners use the correct technical term - "blunt".

Actually people burn too many memory cells on such terms: "other" is a valuable multi-purpose term which reduces need for retaining terminology. All you need is "port" or "starboard" - which ever you use apply "other" to the other. Similarly "bow" and "other" or "stern" and "other" suffices.

The only important terms needed on a cruise ship or boat are; Rye, water, rocks, and occasionally beer. I've gotten along so far with knowing just those nautical terms.:D
