If you are flying into SFO, you may want to consider takinging BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit -- our subway system) which stops right in the SFO terminal. You can take BART to the Embarcadero station, and then catch a cab or MUNI bus up to Pier 35 (or, if you don't have a ton of luggage, and don't mind a bit of a walk, you can always get there by foot). Cheaper than a taxi.

Thanks everyone ...we decided to take the cruiselines transfers....not into shlepping my luggage through the streets;)
