DavidsNana Posted April 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2015 Son is sailing with us on the Emerald Princess. Uses his ATM card for cash. I know they charge fees but his account refunds all his fees as he travels quite a bit. But is there an ATM on the Emerald for Caribbean sailings or just for European and Exotic sailings? Thank you for your assistance.
triple7tahoe Posted April 3, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2015 Yes-May be two but one in the casino for sure. If I remember correctly it is on the port side forward, just before you leave the casino.
Thrak Posted April 3, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 3, 2015 There is always an ATM but it's not something I would want to use.

Rare Coral Posted April 3, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 3, 2015 (edited) While it has been awhile, 2x when I went to use it, it was out of order for the entire cruise. This was in the casino. Edited April 3, 2015 by Coral
Working 2 Cruise Posted April 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 3, 2015 Never had a problem using the ATM onboard.... it does, however, charge a $6 transaction fee...
DavidsNana Posted April 3, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted April 3, 2015 Thanks for the prompt replies. I will let my son know. As I said, fees not a problem for him as his bank refunds them. However, the ATM not working might be a problem. Personally, I have never had the need to use the ship ATM but he does not routinely carry cash. Thanks again. Thrak Posted April 3, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 3, 2015 I rarely have much actual cash with me but haven't really found much of a need for cash when cruising! No cash is needed onboard and in ports I use a card.
nukesubsailor Posted April 3, 2015 #9 Share Posted April 3, 2015 Another option is to go to the Princess website prior to the cruise and from the Gifts and Special Services section buy casino credits for what ever amount you think you might want. I think they come in 3 denominations with the largest being $100. Buy as many as you want. Pay for them when you place the order by credit card. When you get to your cabin there will be a voucher for each casino credit. Take the voucher to the casino cashier and turn it in for its cash value. Then use the cash for what every you want. You do not have to use it to gamble or buy anything else on the ship. We do this so we have cash for tips or to spend on shore. That way we don't have to have a bunch of cash when we travel to the port to board the ship.

Thanks.
bulldog on water Posted April 21, 2015 #11 Share Posted April 21, 2015 the credit cards deem these as if you bought something ,( which you did , it was a 'casino gift" and you will earn any points associated with your card). We do this all the time.
