. . . I had flash and I think they are too bright. happy to help. haven't downloaded them to my ipad yet. got to get ready for Master Chef's table.

Jacqui, At the Apple App Store, they have an app called Photogene that is great at fixing photos on your iPad. More importantly, it's easy to use.

Looking forward to hearing all about the Master Chef dinner!

Thank you everyone for sharing your cruise experiences. I'm glad you have received compliments from other pax about your children.

Just a strange thought, but I wish you could mix the hot air with the cold water to make it just right.

thanks - you do realize that internet isn't great at sea of course - I will try to download it maybe when we are at sea from San Diego. Too busy right now just trying to keep up. LOL.

My stomach has grown two inches I fear from dinner and like the others I am zonked. It was really delicious and we were able to sit together as the "sail a way gang" thanks to a kind couple that offered to move.

It was a beautiful meal - well done and with truly excellent service.

I will post some food porn later - either early before DH is up or once we are back from Guatemala. But to give you an idea of what we had - here is the menu :)

Great company, great food, wonderful service, what more could anyone ask for?

A week tomorrow and I will be joining this fabulous cruise for her next to last leg. Only from San Diego to Vancouver. It was so cheap we couldn't say no. My sister lives in Seattle so I'm combining a visit to her.

DAM nana, wish you had signed on to the roll call. Found out that Roz and you are coming and I would have set up a meet and greet for the 4 day (if you wanted it). I didn't as no one had signed on so the last one is the day before San Diego. hope we get to meet you on board.

back tracking bit again.

how many people can you fit in a Neptune Suite for a wine tasting?

More than you think. Bring in some chairs, stools, etc. and we got by ok.

The wine tasting was a huge success. We all had fun and congrats to 1of4 for winning the wine tasting contest for the favourite wine. She brought ice wine. The rest of the votes were tied so we all decided the best thing to do was to give the prizes that Mumsy had brought to the 4of4.

Names are not being published to protect the innocent, but here is part of the sail a way gang.

thanks to Mumsysailor and Lizzie68 for organizing this. I was just the cabin we used. They did the work and we had fun :)

a bit of food porn will follow from the wine tasting if the pics will upload.

Lizzie and I both had Neptune suites so we ordered some appetizers (or appies as some like to call them).

We had many - more than we ordered and these are just a few.

everything from cheese (got to have cheese with wine, right?), shrimps, cruz chis's favourite thing (already posted) and hot and cold munchies.

Concierge arranged for the wine glasses to be delivered so that no one had to bring their glasses from their room.

I think a good time was had by all :)

so tomorrow, I will try to post pics of our tour to Nicaragua. It was a good tour with entertainment on the side and if things work out, I will post a video or two and one features one of our favourite roll call members dancing. He's been warned :)

I will also try to get the food porn up from tonight.

and the pic of the dessert.

tapatalk and time have to co-operate, but hopefully they will.

we had a great night at the Master Chef's table and they were actually wait listed. So glad I asked the concierge to do us all on day one.

Ingo (our Cellar Master) was a blast and Raj our PG manager always impeccable.

food was good, wine was gorgeous and tomorrow is a busy, busy day so with a full belly and just a feeling of life is good kazu had best hit the hay shortly.

Keep the sail a way lights burning until we are all back :)

The medical emergency was a stroke I believe. I was in the Neptune lounge when the daughter made ship to shore call. They are being flown to Florida. The patient was unconscious when transported. Very sad

This was the second medical emergency todaY. A lady went by ambulance for emergency treatment but boarded again later.

Sorry to hear about the medical emergencies.

Seems like we always have them on the ships we sail.

That is the same menu that we have had for the Chef's dinner.

The last time we did it, we noticed that they are serving the cheeses before dessert -- just like it is listed on your menu.

Neglected to say that DH and I did a good job of sampling as we each had the different option. I, of course had the escargots and they were delicious. He had the other appetizer and said the same.

His Beef melted in his mouth and my lobster and seafood was absolutely delicious. We both thought that the other one made a mistake and should have ordered the other.

DH never eats dessert at night - or very rarely at least. He likes his in the morning but he couldn't resist taking a taste of the wonderful creation that was brought to us and ate the entire thing :) It had a top of carmelized sugar with filligree work and inside was delicious chocolate. yummy.

Great menu!!

Dessert sounds wonderful.

The cheese was served after dessert. We were all puzzled as the cheese was listed before dessert so we thought they had forgotten it. but no, we got our cheese, but at the end and then the petit chocolates. In fact they had to bring more of the chocolates for some of the people. LOL.

Kathi I am so enjoying your blog even though I am on this cruise! It is great to see it through somone else's eyes. As it turned out it was a good thing I did not sign up for this dinner - all I could manage last night was a cup of soup and a side salad, LOL

DINNER WITH THE CAPTAIN

here are a couple of pics from our dinner with the captain.

As you can see, the silverware had HAL's logo embossed on it

and here is our wonderful host

and the dessert that I tried to take a picture of - the gold mesh created problems whether I took the pic with flash or not. The gold mesh was totally edible and delicious of course.

I hope you can make out the yummy chocolate inside the mesh.

The next night we received the signed menu from the Captain which I already posted. A very nice touch.

I think my fellow Sailaway Gang members are bionic! That is the only explanation I have for how they are able to go-go -go and not crumble in the heat like me. The dinner last night sounded like it was amazing but all I could do is get DD and DS to Club Hal for Pirate Night and I headed to the cabin. DH went to a scotch tasting, checked on me getting the school supplies ready for today then headed to the sports bar. I was asleep when he brought DD and DS home.

The Today on Location says there is a Fiesta BBQ starting at 6 today followed by a Lido PoolParty. Dress is tropical. All aboard today is 5:30 so if the heat today is anything like yesterday (and it is supposed to be) I am not sure we will make it. The air conditioned dining room will have my name all over it! Our dining time is 5:45 so we may just have time to shower...

The spa is running a special today too: thermal suite and hydro pool pass for the remaining week until San Diego. Couples is $189, single is $99 valid from today to April 27.

thanks 1of4 - I hadn't seen that in the On Location yet. That spa price is sure a better price than what was offered at the beginning of the cruise. The single price was horrific and much higher than the couples price. This is more reasonable. Must check to see how many sea days we have - LOL

Spa: I've been a "couple" with someone in another cabin. The spa just split the price.

I did that one cruise with a friend too. It is perfectly allowed. The couple price was horrendous at the beginning of the cruise too IMO. Especially with the port intensive part.

It's hard to explain how oppressive the heat is on that cruise. It will get better, especially after cabo. It gets darn right chilly. I know people love the thermal suite but that's the last place I'd want to be on a hot cruise. I realize I may be alone in that thought.
