540 Days to go

It is going to kill me with anticipation. Really it is. Nope, not kidding. October 9, 2016 on the dream. Paid the deposit yesterday with gift cards purchased at Kroger and they were having 4x fuel points. I managed to get 4000 points which equates to up to $1 per gallon of gas off until the end of May. I can't beat that. I will get the gift cards again when I have to finish paying off the cruise and for my s&s account. The S&S gift cards will be used to pay for the gas on my trip down to New Orleans.

It's official, I ain't as dumb as I look. :D

Cruisenewbie,

I am thinking if you have only got 540 days to go before sailing you ought to start a roll call. Some people have left it this late previously and never got in touch with the second guy that booked.

Do not rely on others starting the roll. It's the early investors in the roll call who reap the biggest dividends.

Bon Voyage John.

I just posted on the, "How long until your next cruise thread?" I have 581 looooooong days until our cruise on the Vista! We are doing a RC cruise this fall though so that will help with the wait. :)

You may want to consider getting a Carnival Credit Card - usually during Black Friday / Holiday Season, they have a sale that you can buy gift cards and get a $50 or $100 gift card bonus from Carnival. So last year, I think if you bought a $500 gift card on your Carnival Credit Card, you received $100 Gift Card Bonus. If you didn't have a Carnival Gift Card, the bonus was half. You had a limit of 5 gift cards.

A good way to pay off the cruise and get some bonus $.

I believe some people last year were able to apply the bonus Gift Certs to their payments as well, however I believe the rules stated they were for on-board credit. I just used mine for onboard credit as I also had some OBC from early saver reductions.

That's ONE of the reasons that I count weeks - instead of days so it's only 77 more Sundays! See....doesn't that sound better! ;) :D

I remember when we started at around 500-something days on our upcoming cruise. The wait is brutal but you'll survive! We are 220-something odd days away and it feels like the other 300 or so days really flew by!

to OP,

We booked early to make sure we got one of the 4Js on the Lido Deck.

When I booked our cruise, we were 430 days out and now we are counting down from 59 days until we sail from New Orleans on the Dream:D. During the wait time, I booked 2 excursions, FTTF, hotel and flights are arranged, went thru my clothes (I actually have everything I need, no shopping necessary), the time actually went pretty quick.

Happy Cruising!

We really wanted a cove balcony, when I checked it was over a year out and there were only a few left, so we're at 329 and counting, but have that cove waiting for us.

Had a Cove on the Dream you will Love it. So close to the water. Would book this type of cabin every time if possible.
