Rare POA1 Posted April 21, 2015 #226 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Everyone asleep?! It is HAL... :D In case you're keeping track of toots, it's condos 4, Noordam 0. So far, no one has started eviction proceedings. ;)

c-legs Posted April 21, 2015 #232 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Impressive work by the divers, I think. It is dark. They are underwater. How does one untangle a mooring line around a propulsion pod in such conditions? These guys always wear a ''helmet''-type gear with a powerful light fixed in front, like miners. When you see them at work, even during the day, you can tell where they are under the keel just by watching for the glare emitted thru the water by those lights. The untangling of the line(s) is one thing....checking every part of the pod for damage is another. I hope they get ''danger pay'' because it's a tough job.... c-legs Posted April 21, 2015 #233 Share Posted April 21, 2015 The Captain is going to have to put the pedal to the metal to get things back on schedule. Good night everyone, see you next time! Smooth Sailing! :) :) :) one good thing about the delay....her next stop is Cartagena on 23rd...the Master has time on his side and will be able to make up the delay without any dramatic hike in the fuel burn. Those Vista class ships can deliver almost 23kt for a good stretch. C

SJSULIBRARIAN Posted April 21, 2015 #236 Share Posted April 21, 2015 I was afraid I'd come on this AM and she would still be in FLL - glad the Noordam sailed away last night.

When we left on the Westerdam in 2013 -- after 7 PM -- we also did not toot. 9 is the usual cut off, but the fast ferry from the Bahamas comes in at around 11 PM is always pretty loud. It's small, but it makes Royal Caribbean level noise.
