FLL to POM: Taxi or private transport?

I've done all the research and know the prices, but has anyone used the airport taxis and had a good experience? Seems like most use the shuttles.

 

Also, does POM have cabs for 4 adults with at least 4 large bags and carry-on luggage? We don't won't to take 2 cabs.

Yes, there are cabs for 4 people, both in FLL and in POM. Commonly a SUV or a van.

 

I would expect this to get moved to the Florida Departures board.

Not exactly your question, but I can recommend SAS transport. We've used them twice to get from FLL to Biscayne, right next to the port.

Taxi from FLL to POM or reverse should cost about $75-80+ on the meter - van and SUV cabs for the 4 of you plus bags are the same fare. The ride takes 45+ minutes

According to the lyft website, their lyft plus vehicle which will accommodate your party will run 59.00. Lyft is a service similar and cheaper than Uber. There are also promo codes available on the web that will give you up to 25.00 off of your first Lyft ride. You need to download the app to your smartphone.
