Now that the NFL Schedule has been announced, watching games on Celebrity at sea

My experience, not a TA just around the Caribbean, is that the only place American sports are shown is in the casino bar. I've seen a lot of soccer(football) and cricket on cabin TV, but not baseball, basketball or American football.

Standard Disclaimers. YMMV.

Correct and it is very hit and miss on what games will be shown. I would not expect for them to pick up your favorite team although they do occasionally show special games. For example, I went out of NJ to Bermuda and they had the season opener of Dallas and the Giants in the conference room with a party. Understandable because most on the ship are from the tri state area. In Europe, who knows although there are three games in London this year.

We were on 13 day Med/Greek isle sailing on the Equinox 11/1/2013. My Texas Longhorns were playing the next Saturday on a sea day. I offered the bartender $20.00 to play the game in the casino bar. I got up at 3:00am they were showcasing the game on ESPN and I was pumped. I went down and all that was on was cricket.:mad::mad:

Cannot recall which cruise, but our team (SD Chargers) were playing on MNF, which, on the ship, was actually "Tuesday 1:00AM Football!" Yes, it was a live broadcast, (in-cabin) and we ended up watching the entire game! (quietly... no victory "whoops" for touchdowns!)

I found out yesterday fortunately my team, GO SEAHAWKS, will be on their bye while I'm cruising so I'll only miss one game:D

Ha! Love that you're from Denver! Go 'Hawks!!

I've never understood why Celebrity doesn't have a dedicated Sports Bar. Disney has a great Sports Pub that is always well populated even when a game isn't on ~ and during games of course it's a great place to watch your favorite teams!

I know other lines have them too.

I have seen many NFL games on our sailings (Caribbean) in our cabin as well as in the bars, not sure about a TA. What I have not always seen is the game I want. They are limited to showing the games available on their satellite feed. After that, what is shown is up to the discretion of the media officer. I think squeaky wheel gets the grease, and the higher the cabin category of the requester the squeakier the wheel:). Your best bet is to get a request in to the media officer as soon as possible, and then keep your fingers crossed (but don't hold your breath - you are likely to be disappointed)

I'll be on the Summit for both playoff weekends. Should be interesting!

Hi..the playoffs are totally different than "Regular season games".

I have sailed many, many times over the years during the playoffs

(yes, on Summit) and they always show the playoffs.

Seattle@, I just moved here last year from Edmonds, WA (where I would watch the Silhouette sail by every week in the summer). Go HAWKS!!!!:D:D:D

Ummm... don't you mean Solstice? Silhouette has never been in the PNW (at least, as far as I know). :)

I would love to be able to catch some NFL football on my TA from Barcelona to FLL aboard the Equinox this fall. What is broadcast while at sea? Is it possible to get live football games? Thanks!

Michael, last Nov when we were on the Equinox the GastroBar had College game's on all day Sat and the NFL on all day Sunday.

The only problem was they didnt open till 4:00, so we had to hunt down someone to turn the volume up, and go fetch our own drinks from another bar.

Since we are back on for Thanksgiving this yr with friends from Detroit, the early game, our Cowgirls the late game, and da Bears n Pack Thanksgiving night, we will have a full day of it!

Well, living in Las Vegas, this place is going CRAZY for the upcoming "Fight of the Century", but we'll be six days into our TransAtlantic cruise.

No PPV on the ship, so we'll be checking news updates.

It would be fun to watch because the Filipino crew are huge Manny P. fans! :)

Hmmmmm.... wonder if we'll get the Kentucky Derby???
