Ft Lauderdale to Miami

For the first time ever I am flying into Fort Lauderdale the day of the cruise. The cruise leaves out of Miami at 4PM.

I am sure everything will work out but I am still nervous about missing the boat. Our flight lands in Ft Lauderdale at noon. Which gives us at most 3 hours to get to the boat in Miami.

What would be the best way to get there ? Usually we book through SAS transportation but the last few times the bus was packed as they had to drop other people off and it just took forever. Should we book them again and specify we need to be dropped off first? Any other companies that are good? How much would a taxi cost?

Thanks.

Every trip from the Northeast to Florida for cruises leaving out of Miami, we've use SAS transportation. Very friendly, courteous, and on-time drivers. The trip usually takes 45 or so minutes from airport to pier. When arriving at FLL, the driver calls us as soon as our plane lands, and tells us how far here is, which they're usually on the airport property or somewhere close by. Upon returning from our cruise, we call as soon as we get out luggage, and they're onsite to pick us up with 10-15 minutes. We have always been way early for our noon flights out of FLL.

We just cruised on the Glory last week and we used MJS to get from the port back to the airport in Fort Lauderdale and they were waiting on us and got us there very quickly. They picked us up in a very nice Mercedes Sprinter Van. Would definitely use them again.

You are cutting this way close.

Assuming your flight arrives on time, the latest you can board is 2:30PM for a 4PM departure.

The trip to Miami is an hour drive. I haven't made it in 45 minutes in a LONG time. Even late at night.

Figure on 30 minutes to land, get off the plane and get your luggage.

You have at best, thirty minutes if everything goes perfectly.

I would call the airline and get on an earlier flight.

We just used go airport shuttle and they were great. Paid an extra $10 and they met us at baggage claim with a sign with our name on it. Straight to an suv to Miami.

thanks for the info. I checked out the website and it looks good to me. I have checked out some of the others too, but this one sounds good, especially with the being met at baggage claim with a sign. I am travelling solo, and always fret about not finding my way in airports, so this is an absolute positive for me.:)

I have to agree - wouldn't want to keep that flight if I didn't have to....

Jiffy Jeff is the best. In April we took a 14 day cruise on Celebrity. I contacted Jiffy Jeff to be picked up at our hotel at 10 am. He contacted me by cel phone at 7:30 to confirm our pickup and described his van and driver's name. His van arrive promptly at 10 and we were on our way. His van was a modern Mercedes with the most comfortable seats ever. We were dropped right in front of the terminal and started to board. We then decided to use him to bring us back to Ft Lauderdale when we returned. Again he called me at 8am confirming a 10am pickup and told us where to meet him. Called him when we had our luggage, he told us where to go and we loaded up with no problems. Smoothest shuttle service I have ever used. Professional, prompt, friendly, and great communication, Oh, by the way,the most reasonable prices of the shuttles I researched. Six stars on a five star scale. He will be my shuttle of choice whenever we cruise out of South Florida.

Last February we used the Go Airport Shuttle for car service from the Ft. Lauderdale airport to our hotel in Miami and were very pleased. Our flight arrived a few minutes early, but our driver was already there holding a sign with our names. Just waited for the luggage to arrive and then we were escorted to the car for the drive. The car was extremely clean and the driver very enjoyable to talk with.

Best way to get to Miami from Ft Lauderdale is by using JiffyJeff. Prices were reasonable, driver was on time and curteous and we even received a call when we returned to Miami on Arp 12 to see if we needed a ride back to Ft Lauderdale. We didnt due to visiting family. In all my cruise experience, 19 and counting, the best shuttle service I have ever received!
