Are you buying casino OBC or regular OBC?

If casino OBC you get a card in your cabin to bring to the casino cashier. They will give you cash.

It is then up to you how much of it you wish to donate to the casino.

Thank you both so much for taking the time to reply, I will pre-pay some casino OBC now I know what REALLY happens to it in the real cruise world and not the one according to a Princess Rep who's often never traveled further than their desk .

It takes a few seconds on one of the slot machines.

You charge an amount to your onboard casino account which is charged to your onboard account to offset any obc. Then when you are done with your casino account just cash it out. :)

I think this will be my strategy on the upcoming cruise, if I have any left over that is.:D

Surely it is up to the individual to choose how they pay for their on board spending. Not everyone thinks that credit cards are as wonderful as you do. We all have different opinions and those opinions should be respected. Also these days many people prepay for their hotels as well.

Ummm... how do you think the casino or account credits were paid for in advance when phoning Princess? Most likely a CC. As another poster suggested, it's a good way to send some cash to the ship which can be drawn on for the casino or other purposes without carrying excess cash while travelling to the ship.

Nothing wrong with Credit cards if you have the right card, are in control of the spending and you pay it off monthly. Some cards have the added benefit of providing points and attract low (or no fees) so there is certainly lots of advantages when travelling and not having to carry cash.:D

steelers 36,

I actually used my debit card not a CC to pay for our pre-paid OBC.
