MomofEmmeCat Posted May 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2015 We are sailing Radiance of the Seas on the Alaska Southbound itinerary in August 2015. We would like to make dinner reservations for the first evening. We leave port around 8 pm. Does anyone know when the life boat drill occurs? It would be nice to avoid sitting down to dinner just as that is happening. Thank you.
cb at sea Posted May 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2015 They will not schedule anything to conflict with the Muster drill!
Kamloops50 Posted May 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2015 I would about 7:30 PM. All passengers are required to be on board 90 minutes before departure.

joepeka Posted May 11, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 11, 2015 Muster is usually about 30 minutes prior to sail away and as others mention, everything will be closed/stopped/etc. during the drill. Sent from my Kindle Fire
danv3 Posted May 11, 2015 #7 Share Posted May 11, 2015 I think on our Southbound last summer it was at about 7:30/7:45pm.
CJPi Posted May 12, 2015 #8 Share Posted May 12, 2015 They will not schedule anything to conflict with the Muster drill! Sure about that? On the website when I was putting in a reservation for Samba on the first night, it would let me choose a time any half hour from 6pm to 9pm and I just randomly chose the earliest time not really knowing how the first day and muster drills work. It says our reservation is for 2 hours, granted we probably couldn't ever sit and eat that long, but we would have been there when the drill starts... LeeW Posted May 12, 2015 #9 Share Posted May 12, 2015 Our upcoming MTD reservation is for the time they usually schedule the drill, but we have done this in the past. Just wear dinner clothes to the drill and go directly to the dining room after.
