Poll; will your next booking be with NCL?

Having Platinum status now means to me another line would have to be considerably cheaper or have a better itinerary to make me stop using NCL. The ports available on other cruise lines, such as Suez Canal, trans Pacific or Asia are the items that would induce me to take a non-NCL cruise. All these "changes" did not change my April-May 2015 cruise at all, seemed like 2014.

Just left the Breakaway last Sunday. We sailed the Breakaway last year in the same cabin.NOTHING has changed. None of the changes affected us. We are booked on the Breakaway for May 2016. We sail in a Haven Aft Suite. We've sailed all the lines and NO ONE does suites like NCL. Go read the boards of the lines you are planning to switch...you will find the same complaints. The grass is not always greener on the other side.
Our next cruise is with Princess ONLY because of the itinerary!

Absolutely will book with NCL. We have been cruising with HAL lately but only because of the itineraries. Sorry but the complaints on the others boards are minor compared to the garbage NCL is trying to pull. Oh and by way, cruisers on the other boards are also talking about how stupid the new NCL policies are. Most are swearing to never sail NCL. Edited May 24, 2015 by knight2096

Ohhhhhh...don't feel guilty. Celebrity is easily our new favorite. It's way, way, out of NCL's league. You will enjoy it - truly. We were on Silhouette...S class. Sophisticated without being stuffy or high brow. Best specialty restaurants we've found so far. Ship design is simply beautiful.

You will love Celebrity. It is a little more dressier in the evenings and don't forget formal night. If you don't want to do formal night, you can eat in the buffet or one of the specialty restaurants, they are all smart casual on formal nights. I've met a lot of great folks on my Celebrity cruise. Did you know that you can sign up for the Captains Club prior to your first cruise - you can sign up on line, it is called the Preview tier.

 

Here are the benefits:

That sounds great when my kids are not young and or it's just my DW and me. But for now with young kids, we need more than just a kid's program. And NCL is one of the big three for that. Not counting Disney as I want to keep my cruise costs down.

I voted yes because I just booked our first cruise on NCL last week. Maybe I should have voted unsure as technically my next cruise is still unbooked but we aren't sailing until Jan so what the heck. :rolleyes:

Last night I was looking , just looking, at Mediterranean cruises for this summer. I found a 14

day balcony Jade cruise for less then 100 per night with additional perks . Wow !

Is this fabulous price due to lower demand because of the recent changes? No idea .

 

I had to change my voting intentions .;)

Oh, I wasn't suggesting you go to Celebrity, just commenting on it for the poster who is going to be cruising on them. NCL is much better for those which children, in my opinion.

Very strange but it won't let me vote Yes so I'm not sure how accurate this poll is? We have cruised Princess, RCCL and approx 12 with Celebrity and we had our first NCL cruise just recently and we LOVED it. We would cruise with NCL again without a doubt. Staff, ship, food etc were perfect and we loved the way everything ran so smoothly. Embarkation and disembarkation were by far the best of any cruise line we have been with!! Perhaps we were just lucky as when I read all these negative comments it's as if we weren't with the same cruise line but we had a brilliant cruise and it isn't as if we were virgin cruisers. I will keep trying to see if I can post a Yes vote.

I voted yes not because I'm absolutely, positively sure but because the intention of the poll is something far different than the poll question. As the text under the question shows, the poll is really about whether or not the recent changes at NCL over-ride other factors in choosing a cruise.

 

One poster already posted that he had to change his vote because he found a better deal on NCL the day after voting. He is probably like most people: they look at price and itinerary and make a decision.

 

The majority of recent cruisers reporting back haven't noticed any difference between then and now. There were no "food police", they saw but didn't mind the RS fee, there weren't legions of lawyers at the dock waving the cruise contract in the air and yelling "Cruisers, unite! Throw off the chains of NCL oppression!"

 

And because of that, no matter what the poll here says, none of the controversy CC is so embroiled in will have any effect on the policies that NCL adopts.

 

Now, if we stage a protest and 25% of the ship is a no-show, NCL would take notice. Can you imagine a group of 1,200 people in front of the terminal saying "I gave up my $2,500 cruise to protest the imposition of a $7.95 room service fee, not because of the money, but because of the principle of how NCL implemented it." That would get their attention. But a poll on CC? Not a chance.

 

Since we normally, but not exclusively cruise NCL, it is more than likely that we will book with NCL again. None of the changes make that much difference to us

I voted unsure. Have been cruising with Celeb for the past two cruises. Prior to that it was NCL. We have a credit to use up with NCL before December 2016 so now the smoking policy has changed re smoking on balconies, I would say its a 'probably'. :)
