Skier52 Posted September 4, 2017 Author #251 Share Posted September 4, 2017 Hi Pete..Would you be so kind as to let me know of any information that you would have on cabin 11180 on Seaside? We are booked for 2/17/18. This will be our first MSC cruise and we were thrilled to be offered the loyalty program of our Platinum status with another line. Thank You so much for all the wonderful information that we have been reading on this thread!!:D The only info I have is that it is a Fantastica balcony cabin, and is 177.6 sq. ft. with a 48 sq. ft. balcony. Sorry I can't be of any more help than that Pete

suron Posted November 8, 2017 #253 Share Posted November 8, 2017 Skier52 - wonder if you can clarify something for me. I have MSC Musica booked for March 2018 travelling with daughter, son in law and 14 year old granddaughter. In July my son and his wife and I will be on MSC Seaview and my twin grandsons also 14 years old will be with us. Whilst MSC have given us discounts for the children on the cruise element I have discovered that they are classing the children as adults when it comes to their own shore excursions. The shore excursion company recommended by our travel agent offer child prices for 2-14 year olds but the tours on offer from them are surprisingly enough more expensive in some cases. Why are MSC not recognising a 14 year old as a child when they give discounts up to 17 yrs of age. Suron
suzyed Posted December 21, 2017 #254 Share Posted December 21, 2017 If we are Fantasitca and we are traveling and dining with friends in Bella, does that mean we can't eat in the "Fantastica only" area of the dining room?
scanditaly Posted December 26, 2017 #255 Share Posted December 26, 2017 Are the red star items excluded from YC package also - or does YC all inclusive include the red stars? I have this same question, and since I did not see a response, have re-posted. Also, really? Eight bottles of red wine available? Seems there must be a wine list menu that has not been posted. If anyone has seen it, would really appreciate seeing it for myself. thank you.

Suron I'm sorry for the very late answer but I have only just found this post, thee have ben some big issues for me personally. the answer is that the age limits are set by the people who are contracted to run the excursions. and not by MSC, and they have a universal age limit which would appear to be the lowest limit that any of the operators gives. That would make life simple for MSC and of course give them more revenue. So in the end it comes down to profit for MSC, which is what they are in business for Pete

I'm sorry but I have no information on the "Fantastica only" area of the MDR. It's a new concept for MSC and I haven't had any experience of it. The YC drinks package includes any drink with ONE red asterisk but not those with TWO asterisks ( no package includes them) I just tried to find out about the wine package from my bookings with MSC but they appear to have lost them from their system. Oh Well I'll just have to rattle their cage and get them back on the system. when they appear I'll try again for you Pete

You can buy drinks individually using your cruise card, which is charged to your onboard account, there will be a 15% service charge added to the price. The ship is cashless; you use your cruise card when ordering and it's added onto your onboard account. You either register a credit card on embarkation day at one of the kiosks or deposit cash at Guest Services. Bear in mind that prices shown incur an additional 15% service charge. katie too Posted March 18, 2018 #262 Share Posted March 18, 2018 Yep ............that's correct, Kikki. The included drinks list on the basic package is quite extensive with a very good selection of branded spirits. The wine choices available are a bit limited, though, which is why we stump for the premium package. A better choice of wines as well as all the other extras is better value (to us) than buying other wines throughout the course of the cruise. Is this price list for all ships/ destinations? We will be on Armonia from Cuba, info much appreciated, as we can't see us drinking the 161.00 package each!

MSC operates different policies in different regions - including currency onboard, which can be either Euros or US dollars. There are numerous threads with photos of bar menus showing the prices in either € of $. The range and prices of drinks differ a bit, too, between the two. Once onboard, however, prices will be in € or $ depending on region you're sailing.

Thanks Beam, so if Euro is the onboard currency for a Mediterranean cruise in Europe, will the guest relations or casino be able to provide change for a 500 euro note? You know ... our currency is Euros and we rarely see €100 notes, let alone €500 ones due to a lot of counterfeiting of larger notes - especially when the Euro was first introduced. So, I would be hesitant in answering in the affirmative as I really don't know how 500 Euro notes would be viewed onboard, sorry.
fflashh Posted July 28, 2018 #269 Share Posted July 28, 2018 Skier52, you helped me a few months ago with my stateroom on the new Seaside. Thanks again. We are now on deposit for an 11 nighter on the Divina. Never been on her. We picked 13052 because its diagram shows a HUGE angular balcony. We like high decks and close proximity to elevators which this selection has. But really worried about noise from above. And concerned that there is too much of an overhang above giving the balcony a cave-like feel. Is balcony really big or are diagrams misleading? Bed by bath or balcony? Any other tidbits appreciated. Your thoughts? Thanks, fflashh
TNGALOHA Posted July 28, 2018 #270 Share Posted July 28, 2018 Fflash we have stayed in cabin 13052 several times and loved it. The balcony is huge and yes the overhang is a lot longer but we enjoyed it when it rained we could sit out there and watch it without getting wet. The bed was by the bathroom and the couch was by the balcony door. The room seemed much bigger than most other balconies that is why we always booked 13049 or 13052 . Also just to the right of your cabin is a small elevator bank that is hardly ever used . It came out at the Black crab Restaurant. As far as noise not really noticeable. If you need any other info I will be glad to answer them, Have a great day and great cruise Gerry
