Civitavecchia private transfers

Hi - we are catching a cruise from civitavecchia on Aug 23rd. We will already be in Italy 3 days prior and will be taking a private car service from Rome to the port. I just wanted to confirm that our car (from a well known agency) can take us up to the ship? I ask because I was reading that there's a port shuttle bus that goes from the port entrance to the ship but is that just for people coming on the train? Thanks.

If you name the company, or ask them, an answer could be provided. Rome in Limo, for example, will take you direct to the ship.

Thus far, our private transfers took us directly to the ship, which is much more convenient. They need some permit, so best to ask them directly.

So I emailed Roma Shuttle and they confirmed they are licensed for driving inside the port and can take us right up to the ship, Phew! Can't believe I forgot to ask them that. But I guess all the licensed agencies cab do so. Just relieved as the thought of changing from a car to a bus with heavy bags was a bit daunting.

Yes, typically these companies can all take you to the ship.

 

The taxis cannot.
