stanleypark Posted July 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2015 A few questions relating to a Baltic Cruise on Serenade of the Seas in August. 1. Can anyone tell me anything about dining in Windjammer Buffet Restaurant in the evening ? and does formal night dress code apply there ? 2.Are any speciality restaurants included in the holiday cost ? 3.How do the pre-paid drinks packages operate and having paid gratuities is anything further added ? Krazy Kruizers Posted July 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2015 Welcome to Cruise Critic. You really should ask these questions on the RCI board at this link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=83 And remember in the TITLE to write something like "I have a few questions". When you don't enter something in the TITLE it defaults back to your name.
FTLcruisers Posted July 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2015 Can't comment on the Windjammer in the evenings. But there are no specialty restaurants included in your cruise price. As for the drink packages - depending on which one you purchase, the info will be stored on your SeaPass card. When you get one of those drinks, the bartender will ring up as "zero" price - you may have to sign receipt even though there is no charge. with pre-paid gratuities, you do not have to provide any further tips unless you decide that a staff member provided service above & beyond and you feel you want to hand them cash at the end of the cruise. However, if you order room service, it is customary to give a small tip to the waiter who delivers your meal. Tips will automatically be added to your beverage purchase (doesn't apply if you purchase a package since tips are already included in price of package). leaveitallbehind Posted July 21, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 21, 2015 The Windjammer is casual at all times and serves dinner selections typically from 6 - 9 at night. As indicated specialty restaurants are a separate fee with gratuity included in the upcharge. You still need to convey the full normal gratuities as well - they are not reduced or replaced by the specialty restaurants as more than just the MDR dinner staff is included. With prepaid beverage packages you just need to show your card and will typically receive a $0 receipt. As mentioned gratuities are included but the receipt allows for extra to be added if desired. leaveitallbehind Posted July 21, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 21, 2015 (edited) Krazy Kruizers has given you solid advice. Keith I understand this and agree that redirects are good advice to allow the OP's a better opportunity to continue their discussions with a broader scope of responses pertinent to their question. But it is also just as beneficial to post an answer if someone has one and perhaps also add a redirect as well as this is the first place the OP will return to find their response. Also may save them a double post for the same response. JMO. Edited July 21, 2015 by leaveitallbehind
