JazzieB Posted July 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2015 Hi We are on Explorer in Aug and our first two and a half days well be spent at sea. Our meet and mingle had been set for 9.15 on the first morning, is there any way to request a slightly later time?

wvufan Posted July 30, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 30, 2015 Not very likely as they probably have the venue scheduled for other things later on. The last few cruises, they have almost run us out. Royal2464 Posted July 30, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 30, 2015 Won't hurt to ask. Just bear in mind that the schedules are usually contingent upon venue and staff availability.
BMT Posted July 30, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 30, 2015 Getting earlier and earlier!! We rarely go anymore and many people miss out because of jet lag etc. Pity.

Happy Sails to You OOOEEE Baby :D:D Bob and Phyl On our upcoming September 25th cruise on Serenade we overnight in Quebec. The M&M was scheduled for September 26th at 11:30. I emailed xplora@rccl.com explained that there won't be many people attending since we are in port that day. They responded back that they appreciated the info and changed it to the next day which is a sea day. So yes, it can be done.
OCruisers Posted July 30, 2015 #9 Share Posted July 30, 2015 Getting earlier and earlier!! We rarely go anymore and many people miss out because of jet lag etc. Pity. Hear you! They do seem to keep getting earlier and earlier. We and many others hate not going ... but they are often just TOO early! :( LuLu
Desert Cruizers Posted July 30, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 30, 2015 Our M&M is set for 10 AM on Oct 22nd, a Sea day before we get to PEI
reallyitsmema Posted July 30, 2015 #11 Share Posted July 30, 2015 Our Meet and Mingle for our Brilliance cruise last fall was rescheduled from our first sea day, which was day 4, to 5:30pm on Day 1! It was actually listed in the cruise compass to help notify people but when we stopped by to say we had dinner reservations and wouldn't be able to stay, there were only 3 people there. Between sail away and early dinner reservations, 5:30 was a crazy time to schedule it.
BND Posted July 30, 2015 #12 Share Posted July 30, 2015 How does everyone on your roll call feel about you asking for a change? Is this just because you want to change it or does everyone? Also, that is a very common time for them to be held.

Also, that is a very common time for them to be held. The general feeling is that it is too early, I think most people would quite like a relaxing first morning especially as we are at sea for a couple of days. barbon2 Posted July 30, 2015 #14 Share Posted July 30, 2015 I believe the writing is on the wall for the end of Meet and Mingles. I agree. On many Roll Calls a lot of the posters get together during sail away. This has been going on for years. Many people go right from muster and do a quick unofficial meet. Many times by the time the official "meet and greet " comes around, many people are already settled into their cruise routine, have already met many of their roll call and don't want to interrupt their day for the meet. Just my humble opinion. Barb
