Vikstar Posted August 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2015 Hi All, I was just wondering how annoying/noticeable/obstructive are the support beams on S Class ships on deck 11 and 12? From what I can tell from photos they are on the cabin I have booked on my next Solstice cruise and just wonder if they are going to partially obstruct the view from the balcony. Bo1953 Posted August 9, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2015 I believe this would be a totally subjective thought. If you think you would have challenges with either a 'partially' or 'fully' obstructed view, you may need to reconsider your selected cabin class. And tell us about it and post to the cabin compilation postings if not there already.... bon voyage
Pushka Posted August 9, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2015 They arent too bad but I get annoyed with long shots every now and then. Currently on Equinox on deck 11. We are two cabins away from the window washer. I'll take a left side view later on.
Pushka Posted August 9, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 9, 2015 Ok. First shot looking towards left. And straight ahead.
jan-n-john Posted August 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 10, 2015 Hi All, I was just wondering how annoying/noticeable/obstructive are the support beams on S Class ships on deck 11 and 12? From what I can tell from photos they are on the cabin I have booked on my next Solstice cruise and just wonder if they are going to partially obstruct the view from the balcony. We have had AQ cabins on the lower of the two decks with struts (11) and for my money it's no biggie. You can see whatever you want to see just fine in my opinion. Can't say about the upper deck (12) since I've not had a cabin up there.
TeaBag Posted August 10, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 10, 2015 I think they can be a bit of a nuisance if you want to take a picture like the scene in #4. However, you can still get some great shots straight on.
Pushka Posted August 11, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 11, 2015 I love photography. I find the overhang more of a nuisance.
Rare vickykay Posted August 11, 2015 #8 Share Posted August 11, 2015 We did not find the support beam on the balcony to be annoying and the view was fine. We had been lucky to be able to upgrade to an S1 on our recent Reflection cruise and loved having the larger room and eating in Luminae, however what we did not like about the balcony was that the overhand blocked the sun so we had very little sun on the balcony. phoenix_dream Posted August 11, 2015 #9 Share Posted August 11, 2015 IMHO anyone who finds this stuff 'annoying' must be pretty easily annoyed. Just my opinion.:)
