BlueHerons Posted August 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2015 Wife and I are cruising from port everglades 10/17/15. Can anyone tell me how candlewood suites is ? Thanks in advance Bill My husband stayed there for two weeks while we were moving over from Sarasota and I visited while house hunting. Pros: Full kitchen Nice pool (shared with Holiday Inn) Nice staff Convenient if you have a car Cons: Crappy part of town Hookers in and out of hotel

DanJ Posted August 22, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 22, 2015 Definitely not the popular area that gets talked about here. There are several hotels right there, with the Best Western and Hampton Inn across the road. There is a convenient plaza right across the road as well, although SR 84 is a busy road so be careful. I wouldn't pay Oakwood-area or 17th St money to stay over here but if rooms were cheaper here and really expensive elsewhere, I wouldn't hesitate. (and every hotel has hookers in them lol)

fishywood Posted August 23, 2015 #9 Share Posted August 23, 2015 So Hampton inn is not good hotel ? Location is the issue. And for the night in question the Hampton Inn Airport South (Stirling Rd/Oakwood Plaza) is actually less expensive than the Airport North property off SR 84 and in a much more walkable area with better restaurants and shops for only a pittance more than the Candlewood on SR 84.
