Cabin Assignment - Opinions needed

I booked the 12/13 sailing on the Silhouette yesterday and went for a GTY balcony. I got my cabin assignment today: 8291. Im happy that it is unobstructed and it appears to be Ok based on info on the S class spreadsheet. However, I was thinking about 2 other cabins :8193 and 8154. They are forward by elevators and based on the spreadsheet info, it is not noisy. Main reason for wanting to change is that it appears that there would be slightly less limited view to the sides (8291 is about 5 cabins to the left of hump cabins).

Has anyone stayed at these cabins, especially on the Silhouette and has more expanded opinions than what i can find on the spreadsheet? Also, will smoking be an issue on a port side balcony located on deck 8?

Thanks!

You cannot go wrong with any of those rooms. The smoking side is on deck 5, midship so I don't think you would be effected by it in any one of these rooms. My preference, I like the more midship rooms but wouldn't refuse one of the forward rooms either. I think I would take 8154 instead of 8193 just so you aren't across from the door to the elevators / stairs. It isn't too bothersome, but if you have a choice, why tempt fate.

I wouldn't worry about smoke drifting 3 floors up. The other 2 cabins you mentioned accommodate 4 vs yours which max is 3, so I might be concerned that if a party of 4 booked and Celebrity needed a cabin they could move you.

If I am unfamiliar with a ship I try and book a cabin across from a inside cabin-as you can't tell where the crew doors are and being across from them can be noisey! I checked a couple of the online TA sites but didn't see a 1C close to the elevators and that wasn't for 4.

Thanks everyone! My husband likes that 8291is closer to midship and based on the potential for windier conditions in a forward cabin , I will just keep what we have right now (on our Equinox cruise we had a hump cabin and it was pretty windy that it was hard to enjoy the balcony at times. Very happy that i got a 1C instead of a 2D. Also, good points about celebrity potentially bumping us if a room for 4 is needed.
