Laundry Facilities on Ocean Princess -- Tokens or Quarters

I got off the Ocean August 17, the machines used quarters, $2.00 each for the washer and dryer. The machine will tell you how long it will take. The dryer is stacked on top of the washer. I think it was $1.25 for the soap box.

Word to the wise - the (paper money to-) coin machines have a predisiposition for failing. If yours does, remember that there is another one on your deck, but just in the other (starboard or port) hallway. Oh - and I'd advise to acquire more quarters than you need. As is typical w/public dryers, the alloted time is often insufficient...

There is only one self laundry room on the Ocean on deck 7. There is no machine to get quarters in the laundry room, you can get laundry soap from a machine.

While using one of the Ocean's washers the quarters jammed, I used the phone in the laundry room, someone came to see what the problem was. He was able to fix the jam and gave me most of my money that I lost and told me to go to the Purser's desk for the rest.

You can get quarters from the Purser's desk. I would bring some with you, one day people had to wait for the Purser's desk to get more quarters.

Also recently off the Ocean. Frustrating for lots of us trying to do laundry was lack of quarters at the front desk. They kept saying to come back later. The casino had the quarters but was closed most of our cruise around the UK. When I got irritated- nicely- and asked to see a supervisor, was told after a few minutes that the supervisor had gone to get the quarters. Arrived a few minutes later.

Just a note- our less insistent table mates put their name on a list for quarters and were still waiting for a phone call. Sometimes you have to insist- politely. You can't get off the ship to get quarters for your laundry.

Note that the laundry does get busy and crowded. Early worked well for us.
