weissjaz Posted August 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2015 We have had a balcony for our Caribbean and Alaskan cruises but wonder if it is worth the extra almost $1000 when cruising New England and Canada. I am thinking a window would be "good enough."

Is it good enough for me....no....regardless of my itinerary, my private outdoor quiet space is priceless. JMHO
dorisis Posted August 31, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2015 I think a window would do for us. The money saved could be used for excursions. the weather will probably be cooler up north and the balcony not used much.
Rare Keith1010 Posted September 1, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2015 Other than having the ability to open the door to get some fresh air, I don't see t a balcony getting much or any use during this type of cruise. Keith
Heartgrove Posted October 23, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 23, 2015 We did this cruise September 26-October 4 and had a Vista Suite (balcony) on our HAL cruise from Quebec to Boston. We used the balcony five of the seven days. We were in Quebec one night after embarking and had a wonderful view of the Old City. While underway, the only days we weren't out there for any length of time was when it was raining. Well worth it!
Sea Hag Posted October 23, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 23, 2015 A window is almost always good enough for me. Actually, an inside that doesn't have noise issues is almost always good enough for me. Don't spend that much time in the cabin.
