2910car Posted September 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 6, 2015 Just wondering how far Ephesus is from the port in Kusadasi. Also is it far from Istanbul? I have noticed some ships canceling Istanbul. On our upcoming cruise the only stop in Turkey us Kusadasi. I'm actually glad about that and hoping we are not too near with events going on in Istanbul. roaming_kiwi58 Posted September 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 6, 2015 It is about a 30 to 45 minute drive from Kusadasi to Ephesus, depending on traffic. Very long way from Istanbul - like about 570 kms!
maryann ns Posted September 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 7, 2015 (edited) Google maps can help out. The beach most of the migrants from Syria are using is Bodrum because it is so close to the Greek island Kos. You can zoom in and out on the map. https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Kusadasi,+Ku%C5%9Fadas%C4%B1%2FAyd%C4%B1n+Province,+Turkey/@37.8557019,27.260813,7z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x14bea92b956a5427:0xd89b725d100f2ef4 Many migrants are also making their way to the Greek island, Lesbos which is somewhat north of Kusadasi. Wiltonian Posted September 7, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 7, 2015 (edited) Does that mean we are close to Syria? No. Get a map. And get a grip when it comes to Istanbul; a far safer city than many in the US. Edited September 7, 2015 by Wiltonian
laughing husky Posted September 8, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 8, 2015 You may not be close to Syria, but Turkey and Syria share a border for about 400 KMs.......sorta like the US and Canada.....:)

zqvol Posted September 8, 2015 #9 Share Posted September 8, 2015 I think that it is closer to a 20 -25 minute drive, but the short answer is that it is not very far.
sassy12 Posted September 13, 2015 #10 Share Posted September 13, 2015 Wiltonian - I agree wholeheartedly with you about Istanbul. We were there in June and couldn't believe how beautiful and clean it was. We felt very safe. Would really like to go back sometime and spend more time there.
