Thank you Chris Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk I don't have a link to the Eurodam but here is a link to my photographic tour of the Nieuw Amsterdam, sister ship of the Eurodam, but with slightly different interior furnishings (carpet, paint, art work, etc..: http://www.rogerjett-photography.com/travel-2/ms-nieuw-amsterdam-on-board-images/ Edited September 27, 2015 by Crew News
Lizzie68 Posted September 27, 2015 #54 Share Posted September 27, 2015 All the above, plus: The shampoo is great for washing anything you want to do by hand!:D I second that tip! For our 3 week cruise I used the shampoo for all my hand washing! And a tiny drop of conditioner does great as a softener.

FredT Posted September 27, 2015 #59 Share Posted September 27, 2015 Until I started to follow this forum I had NO idea that you could save so much money by booking your own shore excursions (And get better ones to boot!) I had never heard about the on board laundries (or unlimited laundry packages) Never realized that HAL was one of the last holdouts of the wrap around promenade deck (Important to me) Never realized that the casino/photographer/shore excursion desk was not run by the cruise line. kakalina Posted September 27, 2015 #60 Share Posted September 27, 2015 The best thing I've learned from CC is that people can touch your heart and soul and become life long friends without ever having actually met them face to face. Sail7Seas and RuthC were so helpful and patient when I joined after my first HAL cruise. I learned so much and mostly what not to do and how not to act. Himself Posted September 27, 2015 #62 Share Posted September 27, 2015 Best thing you learned about HAL by reading CC ... that real people on HAL ships complain a lot less than the posters on these boards :D Good Point!

sail7seas Posted September 28, 2015 #65 Share Posted September 28, 2015 The most helpful advice that I've received on this forum is the gentle persuasion and, sometimes, brutal honesty and information that I've received from a collection of "old time" cruise critic contributors. Special thanks are extended to Hank, Cruise Chic, Sail7Seas, and RuthC. sail7seas Posted September 28, 2015 #66 Share Posted September 28, 2015 I read here to use shower cap HAL provides to cover a small plate of crackers or cookies. I don't like to have uncovered food but like a cracker available if I want one. :) Remove wooden hangers from an empty closet if the seas are rough at night. They make an awful noise moving back and forth. On Vista/Signature Class ships, there are large drawers at the foot of (most ?) of the beds. If steward has stored linens in them, just ask and (s)he will remove them if you wish to use those drawers. There is a take one/leave one section in the library. If you have finished a book, you can swap for another to read.
Globaliser Posted September 28, 2015 #67 Share Posted September 28, 2015 I think that the best thing that I've learned about HAL from CC, which hasn't already been mentioned, is that the selection of pre-order flowers on the HAL website is rubbish. You're much better off waiting until you get on board, going to the front desk, and looking at the actual on-board florist's catalogue. IME there's always been a much wider and better selection, and my impression is that they're no more expensive. The other thing that stands out in my mind is the unlimited laundry. I think I would otherwise have known about it eventually, but taken a long time to realise just what good value it is.
