CruiserGVMN Posted September 28, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2015 Greetings, We are sailing soon on the Island Princess doing a Mediterranean cruise and are wondering if the laundry takes american coins or euros? Thanks!

fishywood Posted September 28, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2015 Not 100% sure about Island but on many of their ships Princess has converted the machines in the launderettes to use your cruise card for payment.
paul929207 Posted September 28, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 28, 2015 I would check the laundry early in the cruise o be sure you have the needed currency, if some is needed.
caribill Posted September 28, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 28, 2015 Not 100% sure about Island but on many of their ships Princess has converted the machines in the launderettes to use your cruise card for payment. You use your cruise card to purchase a token from a vending machine in the laundry area. One token for wash and another for dry. Current pricing is $3 each. SpelChic2001 Posted September 29, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 29, 2015 We were on the Island Princess for a Mediterranean cruise in June of this year. The laundry room still used quarters for wash/dry/detergent. There was a change machine which took U.S. dollars in exchange for quarters. I assume it is still the same, unless they have refurbished the laundry rooms in the last few months. Karen

ponyczarina Posted October 1, 2015 #9 Share Posted October 1, 2015 They use a swipe of your card on the Island Princess now. Charged to your account. $3 for wash, dry or detergent. Bring your own laundry detergent though! (Tide packs can be found at the travel size bins in target). They ran out of soap in the vending machines on the Med cruise I was on earlier this month and it caused lots of heartache with people who started their machines before thus purchased it, etc. and people moving laundry around and squatting machines. Uck. Ps. Do your laundry on a port day/night! Too busy on at-sea days.
