phabric Posted September 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2015 (edited) Someone in our group, is thinking into flying to Orlando as it is cheaper than Ft Lauderdale. They do not drive. Is there a bus that goes from Orlando to Ft Lauderdale? Or some other transportation? Edited September 30, 2015 by phabric
Orlando Vic Posted October 1, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 1, 2015 Red Coach goes from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale, but that person would still have to get from MCO to the Red Coach station at 1777 McCoy Rd, Orlando, FL 32809? http://www.redcoachusa.com/ It's only 5-6 miles but the big unknown is how the airplane's schedule would align with the bus's. negn Posted October 1, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 1, 2015 Any money saved would be offset by time and inconvenience. Trying to coordinate all the different modes of transportation would be a real hassle and nail biter especially if coming in the day of the cruise
brunello22 Posted October 1, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 1, 2015 Amtrak operates two trains daily from Orlando and Kissimmee to Fort Lauderdale (I am not sure which Amtrak train station is closer to MCO). A taxi or shuttle would be needed from MCO to the train station. Scheduled arrivals into the Fort Lauderdale Amtrak station are around 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm, but the southbound trains are typically late. On arrival at the Fort Lauderdale Amtrak station, there will be taxis there waiting, or one can be arranged ahead of time. http://www.amtrak.com/home

Is there a bus that goes from Orlando to Ft Lauderdale? Or some other transportation? The distance between these two cities is a bit over 300 miles and the drive is 3-4 hours. You must consider the cost and time spent traveling this distance not to mention inconvenience. Figure in the cost of a bus ride and cost of taxi from Orlando airport to the bus station and then bus station to port once in Ft Lauderdale, etc. Edited October 1, 2015 by Marie51
