The Rep was incorrect.. This morning I received an email from Princess extending my Casino Credit. Here is what it said. I removed my name & CC #

Offer applies to NEW BOOKINGS ONLY.

† Additional savings apply to new bookings only for cruise fare or Land and Sea fare only and are not combinable with select promotional amenities including, but not limited to, air discounts, complimentary beverage packages; as well as Interline, Travel Consultant and Friends & Family fares. Savings are based on trade and stateroom category on a space available basis at time of booking and do not apply to voyages longer than 20 days. Offer has limited space regardless of cabin availability. Savings amounts and offer may change without notice. Savings are combinable with the lowest past passenger or public fare for which the qualified casino guest is eligible at time of booking and applies to first two guests in a stateroom only. XXXXX XXXXXX with member number: 123456789A must be first passenger booked in the stateroom to qualify for the offer. Third and fourth berth guest fares are not eligible. Offer is not transferable and is available to select Casino Guests who are 21 years of age or older and who receive this offer.

My husband got the email, too. I wonder if the previous casino rate did allow for 3 and 4 passengers in a cabin to get the discount.....the rep I spoke with yesterday seemed very certain of her answer. Anyway, doesn't really make any difference since the new one doesn't and I didn't book yesterday.:(

Reps always sound certain. ;) The old rate (which I still have) is the same.

Does anyone know if you can book the casino rate while on board a ship with a Cruise Consultant? Reason I ask is I have no future cruise deposits right now but will next week when I get aboard the CB.

Sure. Just ask them to see if the casino rate is available for the cruise you are interested in and tell them about your email.

Is anyone willing to post what the regular fare was and what the fair was with the casino rate? That would be helpful to others to see what benefits you can get.

Tom:)

It's a percentage off depending on where you're going:

Alaska, Europe, Japan:

Int 25%

OV 20%

Balc 15%

Mini 10%

Suite 5%

Everywhere else add 10% percent to those discounts, so interior 35% etc. On the fares that include port fees and taxes, they deduct the port fees before applying the discount, then add them back in so the port fees are not discounted.

  • 1 month later...
We booked our SE Asia cruises for 2016 some time ago and got an amazing casino rate. This new offer of 10% or even 20% off a mini does not even come close to the great fare we have.

I am just so happy we booked when we did.

I'm a bit confused. So the casino rate you got was different from what you would have gotten if you used the best rate available and then took off the percentage?

We just booked a Panama Canal cruise for Nov 2016 and got 20% on the mini suite.
