Stay in FLL or MIA?

We are cruising on the Glory on 1/9/16, flying into FLL on 1/8 at 4:30 pm.

 

We currently have a reservation at the Crowne Plaza. I figure we would take the hotel shuttle to the property then reserve a private car service to go to POM the next morning.

 

There also is availability at the Intercontinetal Miami at the same price. In this case I would probably reserve a private car to take the 4 of us from FLL to the hotel.

 

The problem is I am anal about getting from the hotel to the POM the next morning. Will there be an interminable wait for a cab? Should I reserve a car from the hotel to POM that day?

 

Where would you stay and what would you do?

If you pan to go from the Intercontinental Hotel to the Port Of Miami there is no need to reserve a car. Taxis are plentiful at the hotel. There are always lots of them.

As Keith mentions above, lots of cabs - and since you can see the port from the IC you'll likely spend more time loading and unloading bags than you will riding in the cab.

I would go ahead and stay at the Intercontinental and take a cab to the port the next morning.
