Has any Royal Diamond members done status match on MSC?

Recommended Posts

So that's how Royal will get rid of the overcrowding in the DL lounge - C&A status reverts to Gold if you don't cruise every 3 years.

I've always been a supporter of this concept. Hotels do this each year. I think once you reach a certain status, to cruise once again within 3 years is reasonable to keep your status and continue on. For sure this would keep down the Diamond and Diamond Plus levels. Too many D and D+ is devaluing the benefits. D+ are pretty much kicked out of the concierge lounge now, that is one benefit I have previously enjoyed on Oasis class ships. :(

Airlines as well.

Hilton Honors even had a promo one summer that had you make 3 stays over a 2 month window to keep your Diamond status. We did a little tour that started in West Palm, then Melbourne and ended in Daytona beach. ;)

For those saying they haven't gotten a response; did you create a Voyagers membership online and THEN submit for a status match? The phone rep told me to do that and I got my discount same day; although have to call back today for the new invoice and black card welcome packet I was supposed to get in email but did not.

Call them up, they are pretty good on the phone walking you through the process if you have issues with their website.

Bonus - Their automated phone system uses the same "bong" sounds as the Seapass card mades on RCI ships.

I submitted my request yesterday, but I haven't created an online membership yet. As far as I can see, you can only create one if you've sailed with them in the past or have an upcoming one booked. The whole point for me is to book the new Seaside, but I can't for another week or so unless I have that membership.

On a side note, the phone rep I spoke to said they received a high volume of requests and are not giving time frames as to when I will be accepted, but it probably won't be by the end of the year.

If there is such an area to create one online without having cruised or scheduled, I would be most appreciative of the link.

Had completely discounted going anywhere but Royal(or Celebrity) but the 2 for 1 balcony would give me a cruise for 30% of what I was prepared to pay.

Just finished surfing the msc forum to find out about dining and smoke issues, 1 review noted how happy that the casino was smoke free on the Devina.

youtube MSC yacht club

This is a 'private' part of the ship. Only thing at sea people say is comparable is Norwegian's Haven.

The big difference is price. You can sail in the Yacht Club for under $2000.pp

This is ALL INCLUSIVE. Your mini bar...which is stocked twice a day, a private lounge for drinks, private swimming pool area with buffet, full bar & hot tub.

Private restaurant, etc.

When you watch the youtube you will be blown away.It is even better than the video. We have sailed in the YC 3 times on Divina & going again this March.

Do not get me wrong...we still love Royal & will be on the Oasis next September.

As far as the match program...it worked out GREAT for us.

It seems that they have a few 'special dates' every year where Black Card members get 20% off instead of 5%.

We are Diamond on Royal & got our Black card through the matching program awhile back.

Just happens that our March cruise is one of those special dates. Even though we were already booked, they gave us the full 20% discount.

Royal Caribbean's new strategies are pushing me towards MSC.

We have been sailing Princess recently and although we are booked on Allure for November 2016 that could easily be cancelled.

MSC definitely has my attention.

I spent a couple of hours today trying to submit a request for LOYALTY MATCH. I filled out the form and attached a copy of our profile on RCL, but when I pushed "submit", nothing would happen.

We are not ready to book a cruise on MSC at the present time, but wanted to take advantage of the opportunity of receiving BLACK CARD status while they are still issuing them.

For those of you who have had success and have not yet booked a cruise or sailed with them in the past 3 years............please tell me HOW TO DO IT! Thanks a million.

How were you attaching your profile? I did a screen capture in crown anchor and made a jpg that I attached. For the date I just put 1/1/15 for saving time. When I submitted I got a pop up saying if get an email with my info.

I haven't sailed with them. Strongly considering booking. Like...90% going to do a booking before end of the year

This board moves a lot faster than the MSC board.

Have any members here taken advantage of MSC matching Royal Caribbean status? It appears they will match (I think) their black card level to RCI Diamond. https://www.msccruisesusa.com/en-us/MSC-Voyagers-Club/Voyagers-Club.aspx

If anyone has done this how did you find the use of the actual perks and the process? I just submitted my info to MSC for the match. Interested to hear other experiences.

Yes it has been done. Good luck.

I was on the Loyalty Match page. I too made a screen capture in crown and anchor and put in in My Picture File (Windows 7).The MSC site had a drop down menu to put in location of the "picture" in addition to asking name, address, crown and anchor #, if you had an agent or not, email address and phone number. At the bottom was a "submit" button, which is where my problem kept coming up over and over. It would not submit!

What section of their site were you on? This is the site I was on "http://www.msccruisesgetforms.com/forms/loyaltymatch.aspx. I got there by first being on MSCruises.com and I think I got there through google. I refreshed the page many times before finally giving up.

I really do appreciate your responding to my request but I must be doing something wrong.

Thanks again for all your help.

That's all the same things that I did as well. I use 'Opera' browser. Other times I use Google Chrome. What browser are you using? If you have others, try them out. Otherwise I don't see what you are doing differently than I am.

Thank you once again. I have to leave now for some appointments but will try using Chrome later today. Currently using AOL! Enough said! You have been most helpful. Hope you and yours have a great holiday.

You enjoy the holidays as well. Try some different browsers when you have time and hopefully it goes smooth for you as it did for me from that point. Bon Voyage!

I was told there was no smoking in the Casino on the Divina.....

Is this true? I don't gamble much.....but I do cross through the casino a lot during a cruise.

Beachammo,

The casino on the Divina is non smoking. Our family of 4 is giving MSC a try this summer. Much better rates and excellent perks. Looking forward to seeing how they stack up.

Just wanted to thank you once again for all your assistance, but...it just won't work for me. I have tried 3 different browsers and it only comes back, FILE ERROR. So, when and if the time comes that we want to try MSC, and will go back to square one and call them direct and have some agent either guide me through THEIR process or do it the old-fashion way and email a copy or fax a copy of proof to them direct. Life is to short to spend hours on the computer to try and make their form work.

Thanks again.

  • 4 weeks later...
We have booked a MSC Cruise to Iceland in July, 2016. We have submitted our request for the Loyalty Match program twice online, the first one back on November 11th, but so far have not received a response. When we called them they just say to resubmit it. Has anyone else had this problem?

Just a follow up. As of today, January 19th, still no response from MSC. I have re-submitted the forms, contacted them by phone and was given an email address to send for additional support so they would forward to the person who actually sets the match up and have contacted them twice. My travel agent contacted her MSC contact and still nothing. Seriously rethinking my booking with MSC. Anyone with additional help would be appreciated.

I submitted twice with no response. I wasn't sure we would like MSC anyway, so I just cancelled my future MSC cruise.

Being self-employed without paid vacations, my lost income over one week can easily be four times the cost of the cruise. And I'm lucky to get more than one week a year for vacation. So a mistake made on the wrong cruise line could put me in a bad mood for a year.

I probably won't try MSC until after I'm retired and can afford to waste a week on an experiment.

Until then I will stick with Princess, Royal Caribbean and perhaps try Celebrity.

I've never sailed with MCS yet but I did submit the from twice once showing I'm Elite with Celebrity and again showing I'm Diamond plus wit RCCL, this was back in Dec and I have not seen or heard a thing back from them. Oh Well, I guess they wont get any of our business.

So I know this is an old thread, but has anyone gotten a response from their submission? They claim they will process it within a week, I'm up to 2 weeks now and have heard nothing, although they did manage to put me on their email list. But when I try to login, they don't have an account for me. I was willing to give them a try at Black level, but not if they can't bother to follow thru on their offer.

I read on the MSC forum that their web form is losing submissions, so you may want to call them.
