Hi everyone! So we are about 6 months from our wedding in Cozumel aboard the carnival paradise. We are using magical wedding memories through Nachi Cocom for the ceremony. They wanted a head count at 6 months out so here we are. We have 32 guests sailing including ourselves with 2 more couples saying they are coming but haven't booked yet.

I've been waiting until this point to finalize the budget and determine whether or not we can afford to do OOT bags for everyone and we have decided we will! This has been fun for me going on the hunt for bargains. I'll do a seperate thread to show the finished bags.

Just thought I'd give an update as I haven't been here in a while. It's been such a long engagement and now that we are 6 months away it finally feels real and I'm getting excited!

Thought I would should show you guys what our invites look like. We decided to skip save the dates and we send these out about 11 months before the cruise. We were worried if we sent them out sooner people would think it was February 2016 not 2017. Let's see if this photo works!

We are getting married on the Carnival Freedom on 3/25/2017 out of Galveston (before the cruise leaves so guests can come, then we can kick them off and go honeymooning! :) ). Sent out the save the dates already. I'm liking the not having much to do. Haven't had much contact with my Wedding Coordinator though, going to call next week to get more info on what all I need to get accomplished for the big day!

Also! We ordered a custom bobblehead wedding cake topper! And I'm SOO excited for it!! (from http://www.allbobbleheads.com -- FYI, look for a groupon before ordering basically ANYTHING for your wedding.). May be more excited that there will be a version of my fiance that will always say yes!!

Doing a brooch bouquet from family heirloom and flea market brooch finds. I'm trying to do as much crafty stuff as I can (because I may or may not have about 5 boards on Pinterest dedicated to weddings). Have found a bunch of nautical themed ones. Our colors are navy and mint. :)

I'm super excited to finish the invitations next month and get them sent off (and show them off, they are going to be super cute!!).

Talked to our travel agent today and because we booked as a group we get to pick a gift for in each room for our guests (varies per trip). We decided to pick a $50 on board credit and a bottle of champagne and chocolates for each room. They'll be a great addition to the little welcome bags we're putting in each room and it didn't cost us anything extra! If you have a group traveling with you, definitely check into this.

Will you be charged for the delivery of the welcome bags to each cabin?

On Celebrity, each delivery is a charge. I believe our welcome bags are $3.50 per room delivery. I'm not sure on other lines, but we only have 6 rooms and didn't want our guests lugging on anything extra. Just figured I would give you the info that I have [emoji1]

I'm making mine. I have a Silhouette Cameo, so I decided to do them myself and save money. :)

Ladies, on your wedding invitations, did you list the ceremony start time or the time the guests need to be at the cruise port terminal?

I'm including a detailed card in my invitation package outlining the reason why we are requesting an early arrival, ID requirements, dress code, etc. Just wondering what time you put on your actual invitation. Thanks!

Hello All,

I am booking our wedding for a cruise May 7-14th, 2017 on Carnival Pride out of Baltimore. I will be booking as soon as we close on a new home next month. I called Carnival and since it will technically be considered a Deluxe Vow Renewal they do not have any other's booked for the entire cruise so I am not too worried...yet. I am going to continue calling weekly until I can book just to make sure. The Vow Renewal's are done at sea on non-formal nights (assuming this it will be the 3rd night) and require you to already be married when you book, show your marriage certificate or have the same last name. We weren't planning to get married civilly until January 2017 for tax reasons, but I did book the cruise already with our last names being the same since it will definitely be changed by the cruising date so hopefully I don't run into too many issues.

We are also doing the Deluxe Vow Renewal! We are getting married on the Valor next September.

Just so you know, if you're bringing your own officiant, you do not have to provide proof of marriage and can book immediately. That's what we're doing; a close friend of ours is a licensed officiant here in MN, so he'll be performing the ceremony. We're getting married on the last day at sea, and then we'll sign all the paperwork when we get home. The main perks of course are 1) you do not have to be legally married to book and 2) we won't have a stranger presiding over the ceremony.

Any ideas on how to nicely but firmly encourage friends and family who plan on attending my wedding to make their first deposit sooner rather than later? First deposit is $25/pp and due by February 8th, 2016. Everyone keeps telling me how excited they are to attend but only 2 people have called my travel agent to make their deposits. I want them to make this first deadline because Carnival will release my block of rooms after the 8th and then guests are stuck paying the second deposit price which is $250/pp.

If need be, Carnival will grant an extension on the initial 25pp deposit. Your agent should be able to handle this with a click of a button for you and at least get a 30 day extension. I would suggest starting a FB Page. I would make it a private page and then add all those whom you have invited to the page. This is a good way to let people know the price and the deadlines for the bookings as well as any hotel information. You can post reminders that everyone will see without it seeming like you are putting pressure on individuals. It would be good to remind them that even though they will be allowed to book into the group after the initial 25pp deadline that after that date there is no guarantee of pricing. It is VERY important that your agent releases any cabins that do not have a 25pp deposit on the deadline otherwise the entire group booking can be canceled. Feel free to message me or look me up on fb under robin cash knight if you have any questions on your group booking.

We aren't going through a travel agent (the only ones I could find in the area were telling us that we would have to have everybody's deposit - the full $250 amount - together in order to book at all). We have, however, been telling people that they'll likely save money and get a better room if they book earlier, though. It's been a mixed bag, unfortunately. I would just keep pitching the lower price of the deposit! That first deposit is so small, I can't imagine why people wouldn't be jumping at that.

That is insane that your agent is requiring this UNLESS there is no available group space on your specific cruise date. Is it with Carnival? If you can let me know the ship and sailing date I can let you know if they have group space available or not.

Anyone have the price list for photography?

This is the current price list for Carnival. You do not have to pay for pictures until the cruise and once you have had a chance to view the pictures. What I have read from numerous brides is these prices are NEGOTIABLE. Review your pictures and then come back a couple days into the cruise and tell them how much you have budgeted and ask them just what they can offer you for the price you budgeted.

It is with Carnival. The majority of the people attending have already booked, though, so at this point it's not a big deal.
