Canceling and canceled debt cards?

So, I have a real problem that I need help or advice with please. I paid $400 towards a royal cruise leaving Sept 25. Well, yesterday I found out that I'm being taken to court for something with an old Cc, so I need that money to settle.

 

Anyways, so tonight I went to Rccl website and logged in and cancelled my cruise. First, does my refund come automatic or do. I need to call?

 

Second, and more important, I had $125 on a debt card, which Actually was cancelled today for receiving a new one with a dumb chip. My new debt card I paid the $250 on. Both cards have the attached and Same bank account. I am really freaking out now that I will lose ALL my money. What will happen please? Thank you

I think that since your debit card is tied to a checking account, it will just go back to your account.

You shouldn't have a problem, you are entitled to your deposit back. I'd call RCCL though and explain the cancelled card.

Okay, I feel better now. Thank you. Will it go back automatically to the card In a few days? I will call also, but just wondering

Dont worry. I put a deposit on a card that expired. They sent me a new card with new expiration date (same numbers), then a few months later cancelled a cruise and it went back to my new card.

Thank you, I feel better. I am going to sleep. I had a really bad few days and I was scared I screwed myself again.

I have had a refund automatically be moved to a new credit card because the original one was compromised and cancelled/reissued with a new number by the bank. Twice. It happens all the time, the banks know how to handle it.
