I finally took the "plunge" and booked Carnival

We felt the same way before our first CCL cruise on the Valor. We had only sailed NCL and loved them (still do). It was a family reunion cruise and we had no choice of line or ship. We had one of the best times ever and booked another one for 2016 after taking another NCL this year and an RCI last year. We love all 3 of these lines and will sail them all. Never been on the Breeze but perhaps 2017.

We've sailed RCCL, HAL, Cunard and CCL. The steward and MDR staff service on CCL is every bit as good as we experienced on those other lines. So we now look for the right itineraries at the best price :)

We "sailed around" on enough different lines so that we'll never reach the upper echelons on any one line's loyalty program so that's not a consideration.

We had just returned from Liberty (Dec 2013) I received a free cabin offer so we booked Breeze for May (2014) ,We booked an extended aft on deck 6 for a small up charge. We were on the same cruise as Gambee and we were all part of the same meet and greet, Love his reviews and pictures.

Things I loved about Breeaz were the public spaces, so many really comfortable place to just sit and people watch. I really liked the light Caribbean decor and vibe of the Breeze. I did find the buffet food to be kind of blah compared to the Liberty but it wasn't a big deal. Guys burgers ...yummy ! Carnival entertainment to me is never that great but there was a good main show and the comedy shows were decent.

My biggest complaint was the sewer smell in the aft of the ship, it was bad!

By the end of the cruise even the piano bar smelled bad. I have no other complaint about the Breeze however after 6 carnival cruises we've decided to check out the Allure.

Having only sailed with Royal one time back in 2000 on Majesty we liked Carnival much better.

We are booked on the breeze the week before you and this will be our first Carnival cruise as well. Our kids went on a carnival cruise with my in laws this summer while we had our 10th anniversary cruise on a RCI cruise and they loved it! Come back n September! [emoji2]

We too tried Carnival last year after being Royal junkies for the last 5 yrs. I chose Breeze as my first too - she's no Oasis or Allure but no other ship is! There were a few things that weren't my fav on Carnival... Not a huge fan of the atrium - definitely prefer the promenade concept more. But apples to apples they're more similar than they are different!

Carnival couldn't have been too bad - we're heading out in 3 weeks for a B2B totalling 21 days on the Glory [emoji6]. The 1st 10 days are on a phenomenally amazing aka can't NOT go casino offer and decided to tag on another 11 because of the deal lol

Hi all!

Bugsy4271 ~ I avoided Carnival until my 23rd cruise & now can hardly wait to do another. My 1st was Dream then I did Breeze twice, one the cruise with gambee, who btw loved my cove balcony.

I don't use the pool or bars so if there was any nonsense I never saw it. I love the fun vibe on the ship, all the trivia, the friendly staff, food choices (love Guy's & Cucina) & the different cabins like coves & 2 port hole ones.

Mitsugirly, another top reviewer here on the boards will also be trying Breeze so I look forward to both your reviews.:D

Looking forward to another great review of yours, they are wonderful. Those two reviews you mentioned also convinced me to come back to Carnival after sticking with RCI for a few years. My last cruise on the Adventure was not the best and I wanted a change. I am booked on the Vista and cannot wait. I also found a great deal on Norwegian and I am going to give them a try.

  • 4 weeks later...

Cruised on Breeze in 2014 as a surprise for my wife's 50th birthday. Not "surprise, I'm taking you on a cruise" but "surprise, I'm taking you on a cruise TOMORROW".

Breeze is a fantastic ship. Just getting off the older Paradise (and still having a great time) I missed having the shady quiet public areas to kick back and nap. And Guy's Burgers are so very good. I must've knocked back 2 dozen of them.

I've only been on 4 Carnival ships, but Breeze was my absolute favorite. But I promise to do some more research.
