If you do not give permission, they can not leave the area until you come get them. It was the same on our recent X cruise. I did not give permission for my 9 year old to check herself out. She can't walk around our neighbourhood by herself, so i did not feel comfortable doing it on a ship. She is a trustworthy kid and knows here way around the ship faster than we do.
