Rare John&LaLa Posted January 24, 2016 #276 Share Posted January 24, 2016 (edited) Radio, If you enlarge photo five above, there appear to be black objects in the water. Any idea of what they are? janabelle61 Posted January 24, 2016 #277 Share Posted January 24, 2016 Radio, Thanks so much for a great 'live' review. It's been interesting seeing how they handled the storm and I've enjoyed your pictures. I'll be sailing the Lady G in September (hopefully no snow then!) so it's been fun to see her looking so beautiful :) Stay safe and warm when you return! retiring soon Posted January 24, 2016 #278 Share Posted January 24, 2016 Hi all! Radio ~ thanks for taking us a long on another great cruise & even longer than we thought it'd be.;) Talking about your next cruise, when exactly is it please? I see a travel company up here advertises a flight included cruise on Divina so I might be interested in that at some point. First I have to see how their Thomson Dream one goes on Feb 2. Safe travels when you head home. ~ Jo ~ :)
Rare Radio Posted January 25, 2016 Author #279 Share Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) Hello everyone . . . We are now located at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel (at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay). The Pilot is onboard as we head north to Cruise Maryland. The weather today was very nice with no clouds and sunny skies. It was very windy and cold but it was much better than we’ve had for the last 2 days at sea. Most passengers today were just hanging around and relaxing . . . That’s not a bad thing to do on your last day at sea. Casino Royale wasn’t treating your Intrepid Reporter in a favorable way for most of the Cruise, but the last 2 days were very “Radio Friendly.” The Captain’s Corner this morning was very interesting. The Captain, Hotel Director and Chief Engineer seemed very comfortable answering all questions from passengers. They also made it clear that shoreside Miami makes many of the decisions regarding itineraries, missed ports, extra days at sea, etc while Grandeur of the Seas crew takes care of passenger comfort, maintenance and navigation. I have heard it suggested that we will only be let off of the ship once the appropriate shoreside employees are at the Port of Baltimore. This means that there is a possibility that we may not begin debarkation as soon as we dock. I have also heard that the next Grandeur sailing may be delayed due to airline cancellations and passengers getting to the pier. There are rumors that Grandeur will NOT do a Western Itinerary as scheduled and will not go to Labadee. I have heard that San Juan, PR will be a port of call. These are items that have been discussed by passengers and crew but there has been no announcement from Royal Caribbean International. Here are a few pics from this afternoon. Thanks for the nice comments, and thanks for tuning in . . . Radio Hotel Director, Captain, and Chief Engineer talk with passengers at Captain’s Corner at the Palladium Theater The sun was out beautifully this afternoon as we sail past Cape Hatteras It looks very warm, but it was about 30F and very windy (It’s still better than rain or snow) The Tango Dance Class was popular with passengers We picked up the Pilot at 7PM As the Pilot boat leaves Grandeur of the Seas, we head north up the Chesapeake Bay for 12 hrs. . Pumbaamd Posted January 25, 2016 #286 Share Posted January 25, 2016 Be very careful travelling around Maryland today. It's 15 degrees here right now and still lots of ice and snow everywhere. Local news just showed a plow truck and a fire truck both stuck on the roads nearby. MARC and VRE train service suspended. Very limited Amtrak service. Airports open with some flights. Take care. Rare Radio Posted January 25, 2016 Author #287 Share Posted January 25, 2016 Hello everyone and good morning . . . Welcome to DAY 10 of “LIVE” from Grandeur of the Seas. We have docked at the Port of Baltimore (Cruise Maryland). We actually arrived at the pier around 6:30 AM, and were tied up by about 7AM. Passenger debarkation began at 7:10AM. The cars in the parking lot have a lot of snow and I believe that the port personnel may be assisting passengers with snow removal. It was very cold out when we docked. (12F) It is with great sadness that I will be leaving Grandeur of the Seas today, but I am very happy that I was able to have a fun relaxing cruise with friends on board. It was also very nice to see all of the positive comments that were posted on my behalf. I hope I was able to bring you a little closer to Grandeur of the Seas and give a glimpse to all future passengers of life on board (through my eyes) I should be home by 10:30, and will most likely be watching some news for a few hours. Thanks again for the nice comments and thanks for tuning in . . . Radio I am sad to see the Debarkation terminals on Deck 4 I make it to the Diamond Lounge on Deck 6 for a final Café Americano . . . Grandeur of the Seas slides under the Key Bridge (MD RT I-695) The pool deck is lit up from the giant LED screen . . . Grandeur of the Seas approaches the pier slowly Yikes . . . there may be a lot of shoveling by many passengers . . . .

Pumbaamd Posted January 25, 2016 #295 Share Posted January 25, 2016 Compared to the rest of Maryland, that IS a very good looking parking lot! Safe travel to all. R&D
LMKakaThing2 Posted January 25, 2016 #296 Share Posted January 25, 2016 Yikes . . . there may be a lot of shoveling by many passengers . . . . I see my car!!! Bottom left corner next to the white jeep. Surprisingly we had my car out within minutes. Can't say the same for the cars in the row behind us. Those cars were buried in on all 4 sides. Highways weren't all that bad either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Setting sail for fun Posted January 25, 2016 #297 Share Posted January 25, 2016 Agree, that parking lot looks much better than I thought it would! Although, any snow shoveling at the end of a cruise is too much. Safe travels home.

Rare Radio Posted January 25, 2016 Author #300 Share Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) Hello everyone, I am home getting ready to watch a little news. I walked down to the gangway on Deck 4 at about 9:15 and was very happy about the debarkation process. No passports were required as they were only checking customs forms. Yes, it was wonderful. Usually the only negative thing about Debarkation day is the long line you must stand in while waiting in the queue for Customs. Today there was no line, and time from gangway to car was about 5 minutes. . . Perfect! Over the next couple of days I will work on posting the daily Cruise Compass and other info. There are also several videos I have from my 9 nights on board. Join me next time when I begin my “LIVE” from MSC Divina (May 28, 2016) Thanks for tuning in. . . Radio Casino Royale posted the hours for the next Itinerary . . . My view from the gangway at debarkation. There aren’t many trailers to load supplies here . . . Maybe they will load more in San Juan. My long walk to the Terminal is about to end. So Long Grandeur of the Seas . . . I’m sure we will meet again. Join me soon for my “LIVE” from MSC Divina Copyright © 2010 MSC Cruises . Edited January 25, 2016 by Radio
