Question About Suite Perks on the Star

Asking for a friend:

Do Family Suites on Star get any alcohol or mixers included in their stateroom?

Also, do all suites get preferred show seating or just certain types?

TIA!

Just stayed in Family Suite. You will have a bottle of Champagne but no alcohol/mixers. I can't answer the show question as we didn't try. The priority embarkation/disembarkation is an awesome perk as well and priority tendering.

We sat in the suite seating located in the upper level. The concierge waits outside the door and will seat you. He stays until about just at the beginning of the show. As mentioned you get a bottle of Champagne.

Only GV, DOS and OS get free alcohol and soft drinks/mixers. Every one of the 5 or so NCL ships we've been on list the reserved seating area in the balcony as for GV and DOS. At times the concierge has let other suites in if it's not busy. Our recent cruise a few weeks ago on the Dawn only allowed GV and DOS/OS in the area.

Not sure if it's changed, but as of last November, all Star suite guests were allowed preferred seating.

Strange, there are permanent plaques on the rails and entry area stating GV and OS only. At time the concierge has allowed other suites to utilize excess space at the start of the shows. Usually the front row is blocked out and one or two rows behind are allowed late. Probably different concierges or HD are a little more lenient. On our cruises including multiples on Star, I've never found it to be true, GV and OS only. Try it and see what they say.

On the Star in Sept/Oct this year and it was only GV, OS seating, however, Roel, the concierge on our cruise was leaving mid November to spend his first Christmas at home in 12 years so could very well be different rules for different concierge.

It seems to vary by ship and concierge. On Dawn/Star class the front two sections with the little brass signs and a sheet of paper have been strictly for GV/DOS/OS on the sailings we have been on. We have seen the concierge who blocks of a "lane" just behind that section for all other suites though on Star/Dawn.

No free alcohol or mixers for a regular suite. Show reserved seating is normally for owner's suites only. However, we always make friends with the concierge and they normally will allow you to sit in the reserved seating.

Never been told or seen that reserved show seating was for OS only. On all our suite cruises we've simply been told that there is a section of the theater (usually one of the side balconies) reserved for all suite customers.

Only experienced this on Star (also possible on Dawn). The forward balcony seats have a plaque stating "Garden Villa and Owner's Suites only", and it is enforced. If you arrive late and they are not filled you may be let in. We were in a Penthouse suite and were allowed to sit there twice. Other Epic and Away ships with different theater designs have one section on the main floor blocked for all Haven/Suite guests.

And OP, all suites get sparkling wine, OS & GV get real Champagne.
