Can Aqua Class Use Select Dining in Addition to Blu?

We've got 14 couples on our upcoming cruise, with two of those couples booked into Aqua class cabins. The remaining 12 couples all have the Select dining option. The two Aqua couples would like to eat with the others in Select dining on some evenings. We've been told that Aqua class passengers have the option to use Select dining anytime when not using the Blu restaurant assigned to Aqua class cabins. Has anyone that previously sailed in an Aqua cabin been able to routinely use Select dining instead of going to Blu? Thanks for your answers.

Be sure to coordinate that with the Blu MaitreD. Sometimes Select is oversold. The Blu MaitreD can advise you as the best time to go.

Keep in mind that while a couple of extra people probably won't cause too much problem, those who have paid for Aelect can't just move to Blu to even things out.

no problem...just tell the aqua class folks to tell the blu maitre d' what they are doing.
While you certainly may do that, I don't think it is necessary. People who dine in Select (note that if you have a MDR table, this is not you) including AQ (who are allowed in Select dining), give their cabin number to the Select Maitre d' who enters all cabin numbers into the computer. When an AQ cabin number is entered, it should automatically notify Blu's Maitre d'.

Oh, right:o I was assuming that they had a functional computer system.

Whether, or not, you can use Select when assigned to Blu (Aqua Class) is a big "maybe." The normal procedure is to talk with the Blu Maitre'd (or whoever is working on the door) and tell them you want to dine in Select, Early or Late Sitting. This is generally done on a day to day basis...often because somebody may not like the Blu menu that night or perhaps wants to dine with friends in the MDR. The Blu Maitre'd will usually call over to his/her counterpart in the MDR to inquire as to availability. They will always get you in the MDR, but it might be one of the sittings instead of Select. It just depends on the current circumstances...i.e. if Select is already overcrowded they many find you a table in 2nd sitting.
