Any update on when China bookings will open

I imagine that the China cruises will focus more on the Chinese market for passengers than on the USA market.

I agree that it would probably be a separate company like Carnival Australia for booking but no one knows for sure at this point.

It def will be focused on the China market, of that you can sure. A placement cruise to there would be an interesting proposition to consider.

I would definitely be interested in doing a repositioning cruise if it included ports in south east Asia.

That could be a very interesting one.

Strange to me that other cruise lines are building ships for the Chinese market and CCL is bringing an older ship there.

Would think they would have to offer pretty good deals to fill their ships.

Last week on the Freedom the future cruise lady mentioned the repo cruise at the future cruise talk. Checked in with the PVP and she just told me that no one had any information as yet, future cruise lady said the thing when I caught her at her desk a couple of days later.

Now the PVP knows I want in on this she will let me know when something is announced. We've done four of these long cruises, they are always a lot of fun and many once in a lifetime ports.

With a market that is virtually new to cruising' date=' ships will sell themselves. Also, the Asian market does not need or want all the bells and whistles that N.A. and European cruisers expect. Carnival is building new ships for China, but building them [b']in China, as Chinese flag,[/b] to get around China's cabotage laws similar to the US's PVSA. That would allow them to offer coastwise cruises strictly within China, which the government likes as it keeps more money in China.

I agree with you for the first year or so but after people learn a bit about cruising think they would head toward newer and better ships.

Will be interesting to see how that shakes out..

I don't think so. This is why they are phasing out the Broadway shows and stuff on these cruises, because the Asian market doesn't want it. Star cruises have been operating there for years, and they are basically casinos with restaurants.

They will certainly make their money in the casinos.
