msw.delafield Posted January 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2016 No, you would be responsible for claiming them at baggage claim and taking them with you on whatever mode of transport your choosing.

Treven Posted January 25, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 25, 2016 (edited) Looks like the consensus is nope. You handle your luggage just like any other flight to some destination. Edited January 25, 2016 by Treven
Cruisin' Chick Posted January 25, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 25, 2016 Have never heard of any cruise line, at least mass market ones, that will pick up your luggage at the airport unless you are paying for an air or transfer package.
Rare Keith1010 Posted January 25, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 25, 2016 You just take them with you and then drop your checked bags off with one of the porters. Keith
FawnRiver Posted January 25, 2016 #9 Share Posted January 25, 2016 Even if you use Princess air or transfers, you still have to pick your bags up at the airport and take them to the transfer point. If you're going straight to the pier, then that's the last time you'll see them until they are delivered to your stateroom. If you're doing a pre cruise hotel stay, then you will have your bags with you at the hotel and there will be instructions on what to do for embarkation day. Unless something has changed since the last time I used these services, of course.
alolewis Posted January 25, 2016 #10 Share Posted January 25, 2016 In 2014 in Seattle we wanted to do some sightseeing before boarding. I asked the Princess rep at the airport if they could transport our luggage and they said they would for $3 a bag, they said it was a new program. We did not have Princess transfers, used light rail and the bus. Would not hurt to ask the Princess rep at the airport if you do not want to haul your luggage or plan to do some sightseeing before boarding. LeeW Posted January 25, 2016 #11 Share Posted January 25, 2016 Getting off the ship you might be able to take advantage of the EZ Check program. For $20/person the ship will print your boarding passes and check your luggage from your cabin to your home airport. Currently works only with American, Delta, Jet Blue, Southwest, United and Alaska at FLL. No need to find your luggage in the terminal, just take your carry-on to the Customs line with you. If there are luggage fees these get charged to your onboard account, and according to the form no overweight charges apply (and others have reported no charges). Program doesn't always run and your flight has to depart no earlier than 11:30 in FLL. You will get a handout on this onboard. They also limit number of people signing up, so if you want to do this sign up early.
