Super Bowl 50 on Allure

Recommended Posts

We are getting ready to set sail on the Allure this Sunday. I specifically booked this cruise on Allure for this date with the hope that the game would be on the big screens in Aqua theater. There are several CC threads from previous years indicating that RCI does in fact put the game on at the Aqua theater and provide tailgating type food and drinks. All the posters indicate it was a great party.

It's interesting however that the cruise planner on the RCI site still indicates that Oceanaria will be presented At 900 and 1045 on Sunday February 7. The game won't be over until well after 1000pm.

Is there any way to check before we board as to the venues which will be showing the game, or do we just check with guest services when we board?

Cheers

Tom

No way to check before the cruise. My guess is that Ocean Aria will have a schedule change.

Thanks. I'm not surprised. We'll just have to get on board early to scope out the venues. Here's hoping for good weather for outdoor viewing.

when you reading the other thread about the football game in the Aqua theater and noticed about the show at the same time, see if they say anything about the show is cancel. If not ask that particular thread for the outcome. I am sure they will reschedule the show to another time. I remember when the Oasis was going to do the live broadway performance for one the Tony award night. I waited till that time to come. There was a small group of people was in audience. After seeing that i read in one of the thread, that people had to get reschedule because of that. I can not recalled when the noticed went out. Oceania is reserved seating show. Like i said ask the thread in past to see what the outcome is.

I cannot answer your question, but I was on the Freedom a few years ago during Super Bowel. they set up a tailgate party in the Ice rink with the game on a screen, it was surprising how few people actually attended.

Thanks. I don't recall seeing mention of the rescheduling, hence why I asked here. But it's pretty clear that using both theaters for the Super Bowl has been done in the past in Oasis class ships with much success. I'm surprised they don't advertise it more on the site or elsewhere ( I know there are restrictions on the unauthorized use of Super Bowl in adds).

We were on Oasis in 2010 and they had the Super Bowl on at the Aqua Theater and had decorated in the team colors, sold beer, etc. around the Boardwalk. Lot's of fun. But don't remember if the Aqua Show was on that night or not.

Thanks. If you did a post on it I think I saw when doing my CC search. That was one of the reasons doing a cruise over the Superbowl weekend appeals to me.

We were on Allure a few weeks ago. One playoff game during the day was at the Aqua theater and the Cardinals-Green Bay playoff game later in the day was at the Ice Rink. My guess is they will show the Super Bowl but location will depend on what else is going on at the ship at the time.

So far, Sunday's Fort Lauderdale weather looks like rain and moderate winds, and temps in the 60's. Odds are the Aqua Theatre show would be cancelled that night anyway. Not sure how pleasant it would be to sit out there in that to watch the game, even though it would be "football weather" lol. They will have the game on in other locations though, casino and a couple of the bars on the promenade for sure.

Yep been keeping an eye on the 7 day forecast for two weeks now. [emoji16] Not looking promising for Super Bowl under the stars. But I'm thinking positive. Regardless of the location on the ship my expectation is that it will be a blast.

Unfortunately it's only Wednesday, so forecast will change three more times between now and Sunday' but the forecast now calls for 65% chance of morning showers. Looking better!
