bluecookies Posted February 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2016 Last week we took a short 4 night cruise on the Enchantment to the Bahamas. We got an inside for $185 each. That comes out to about $46 per night. You can hardly stay in a decent hotel room for less than $100 for two people! I wish I could book another, but can't find anything close to that price. What deals have you snagged? It doesn't necessarily have to be a low dollar amount, but perhaps a great deal for your ship, itinerary, time of year, etc.

They had a California coastal out of San Francisco - 7 night itinerary for like $500 pp in a family sized oceanview at the back of the ship. Well, they called a couple of months prior to the cruise to say they needed to change it into an 11 itinerary and we could keep our same room, save $100 pp if we agreed to stay with our booking. No brainer ... 4 more nights with money back. Now, for the kicker, we won back the cruise fare in the casino. It just doesn't get better than that!! Ken at the beach Posted February 16, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2016 (edited) $270 pp CDN$ for a D2 balcony on the Freedom for the week of Christmas 2015. It was $360 US I think. The deal lasted about an hour and a half. That was back when Royal honoured their mistakes. Edited February 16, 2016 by Ourusualbeach

If so, you actually got it for about $26 dollars per day. If not you paid about $66 per day.

emeraldcity Posted February 16, 2016 #10 Share Posted February 16, 2016 3-day repo ... Colon, Panama to Miami. Started off at $99/pp for an inside, then grabbed a deal to upgrade to a balcony for $40 extra ... which entitled me to my emerald discount of $50... ... then got a complimentary upgrade to a JS. thank you Ruth. Best part about the repo was that we had been on the previous 7-day and it was cheaper to take the cruise and fly home from Miami than to fly back from Colon
mkmom514 Posted February 16, 2016 #11 Share Posted February 16, 2016 (edited) A couple of years ago we were able to upgrade from a balcony to a junior suite on the Independence for $50 per person total. greenbbs Posted February 16, 2016 #12 Share Posted February 16, 2016 A few years ago, before my kids had started school (our oldest is in 1st grade, so this happened when she was in pre-school), we booked a western Caribbean on Norwegian on the Dawn sailing from Tampa. Since the oldest was in preschool, we weren't necessarily tied to school break, etc. We took advantage of (and I mean seriously...took advantage) of a kids sale free promo they had and booked a 2 br family balcony suite for a total of $3800. Was probably the most amazing room we've ever had on a ship.

Funbobby68 Posted February 16, 2016 #15 Share Posted February 16, 2016 I use to strive for a 100.00 or less PP , those days are over from what I can see , so have raised the bar to 150.00 PP , but still always look for deals , makes me want to live on the east coast

moopetguy Posted February 16, 2016 #19 Share Posted February 16, 2016 (edited) I use to strive for a 100.00 or less PP , those days are over from what I can see , so have raised the bar to 150.00 PP , but still always look for deals , makes me want to live on the east coast I'm still trying to keep it to around $100 CAD per person, per night (pppn). It restricts you somewhat because that price level can be rare/hard to find on the larger/newer ships...you do need to be patient and look around, but also not be too disappointed if you can't find a price you're comfortable with. Here's how I've fared (pun intended) on my sailings for the number of pax and stateroom class in parentheses (calculated as total fare including port fees+taxes, not including gratuities, divided by number of pax): Navigator: $113.57 pppn (2, D1) Explorer: $117.33 pppn (3, F) Oasis: $103.14 pppn (3, I) Enchantment: $74.59 USD @ 1.31 = $97.71 CAD pppn (2, N) Grandeur: $84.13 pppn (3, M) Liberty: $79.17 USD @ 1.10 = $87.09 CAD pppn (3, K) To date, I've probably been paying more than I could have otherwise gotten away with primarily because I didn't know any better. Now I know to book as soon as the new itineraries come out...starting in a couple of weeks' time. Rare John&LaLa Posted February 16, 2016 #20 Share Posted February 16, 2016 (edited) 2 bedroom 2 bath suite on Sovereign, October 2008, 4 nights, $300, total.:D Actually it was 2 insides across the hall from each other, but since we were in the bow with no traffic, we left the doors open. ;) I think it was Deck 7, and the $150 per cabin included the port charges. No solo supplement Edited February 16, 2016 by John&LaLa

Ken at the beach Posted February 16, 2016 #23 Share Posted February 16, 2016 (edited) ^^^^ This!!! And don't forget we also got all of that OBC once on board due to the propulsion problems. Don't expect to ever get a deal like that again!! I had forgot to mention the OBC for the propulsion problems. We even used a next cruise certificate on that trip so gained smother $100 OBC there as well. Brought ours down to right around $200 per cabin total including taxes and fees for the week. I don't know if you saw the thread a while back but there were a few really good deals (mistakes) that Royal did not honour. We won't see anything like that again unfortunately. bluecookies Posted February 16, 2016 Author #24 Share Posted February 16, 2016 I was looking up a return flight from a transatlantic from Barcelona back here to Tampa just for fun. It ranges anywhere from $1200 to $1600. However, one flight popped up tonight for only $570! Never seen it that cheap! 14 night transatlantic cruise with airfare, including all taxes and fees would cost $1100 per person! Too bad I have to pass on that :(
