Laurie, I love high low dresses, they always look flattering. I prefer the heels with the brown dress, they make it look more special. The print dress I don't think I'd wear a necklace. It looks like there's a brooch on the bodice already, a necklace might detract from it. I love the multicolored bracelet with that tango colored dress. Melody

Margaret , Great picture of you and Anita in Times Square . I hope your Mom stabilizes . It is so hard to deal with our aging parents .I went through it the last two years with my Mom slowly declining .

Laurie , I agree with Melody about that print dress . No necklace required .

I agree with Melody.

I love that brown dress because it's so versatile. I can picture it with evening sandals and sparkly accessories for a more formal look, and with the tan sandals, a cuff bracelet, and some interesting earrings and it would be completely different.

Laurie, I was wishing you were standing between us so we would have deep autumn, true autumn, and soft autumn. :) To the uneducated, looking at how Anita and I were dressed, one might wonder if we were the same season at all. I admit I was pushing the deep autumn that day on purpose (I can't always be wearing teal, right?). I think we both look awesome!

I was planning on enjoying the zen of trimming my bushes today, but once more it's a rainy Sunday. Time for laundry....

Thank you for the feedback. I agree, with the print dress, no necklace is needed. My first thought was that it was v-neck, and I generally wear a necklace with that style. I don't think it takes much to realize that I don't wear a ton of prints because I have trouble accessorizing them at times.

Margaret, you are absolutely right about that brown dress. The things I could do with that dress! I too thought about what I call our date night, when we go to a specialty restaurant on the cruise. I love the dimmed lights, and the romantic atmosphere....I could totally see my gold sandals and some sparkly...sigh. That could still happen! Right now though, I'm liking the idea of this dress for the last night, and I'm not looking to overdo it. Those sandals are a bit warmer than the picture shows, they go with anything and everything, and they are comfortable too. I got them recently and we've had very little good weather - it's either cold, rainy or both. But I've worn them a few times.

I wore them to my birthday dinner with ankle length chinos and a pretty shirt.

And another thing about the brown dress. Sometimes, you can create a certain juxtaposition with accessories. I was thinking about the clutch with the animal print in the photo. The other one is just a day to day one, since it goes with almost everything and gives me a space for my sea pass card, lipstick and phone (for impromptu pictures)

The lace dress is a Ralph Lauren dress. The color is called rioja red, and some people insist it is purple, others say it is brown. Either way, when you aren't super close with a flash camera, it's warm. That was a size 16, and I needed every little bit of it so to be able to take it in and still wear it is a dream for me. I tried it on when I got home and my husband immediately said "wow, that looks great!". It felt really good. He always says nice things, but I can tell when he really loves something, and he loved the way this dress looked.

Here is the thing with the lace dress. It has sequins, so I am thinking this could be for the second formal night. I don't have a problem with that. My problem is that lace reminds me of a print, so I wasn't sure if either of my necklace choices cut it?

I like this one, possibly. I actually got the necklace to go with the dress about 3 or 4 years ago.

This picture is very bad, but I'm posting it because the other picture wasn't much better. Those are rhinestone flowers.

IMG_4401_zpscxfdxr38.jpg

Here are the two necklaces side by side. Your thoughts??

I am really thinking so much about my cruise, probably because of this awful weather. I just keep toying with the possible outfits. I even have many of the day time outfits planned, and those are generally just shorts or a skort with a casual top. :D

I mentioned that I have two other dresses I have pictures of, and I was going to play with a few more. One is the olive dress that I wore on my last cruise that I couldn't seem to get a good picture of. Another one is that warmish burgundy like dress that I got a few months back. I would already say I'd wear those same sandals. There is one other pair of sandals that often go on cruises with me that are a wedge, and those too are very comfortable.

Our weather for Boston is supposed to be great. I have to go back a few pages to get Sally and Melody's suggestions for restaurants. There is an aquarium not far from our hotel, so we may check that out on Saturday.

Margaret, I too was thinking about the deep, soft and true autumn thing. I think a picture would be awesome someday!

Between my foot and the weather, we have not yet finished our gardens in the front. Thee weather isn't supposed to clear until Wednesday, which is a gym day. We'll be done at 8 or so...no gardening that day. Then Thursday is the evening before we leave for Boston, so laundry, grocery store, packing. Looks like we are looking at the week after that!

Laurie , I love the Boston Aquarium but there is so much more to see in Boston . I would skip the Aquarium and tour Boston since this is your first time there . The hop on hop off buses will give you a great overview . A good seafood restaurant in Boston is Legal Seafood.

Laurie, if it's raining hard go to the Aquarium, otherwise I'd walk the Freedom Trail. Your hotel will have the self paced walking tour map. Hop on, hop off busses are great too. If the Red Sox have gone out on the road I'd highly recommend the stadium tour too (they only do it when the team is gone). Going behind the wall & seeing all the signatures is still my husband's favorite part of the tour. I, personally, dislike Legal Seafood; We love NoName Restaurant for seafood but that's why there's more than one seafood restaurant...everyone has different tastes. Hope your foot is up to lots of walking, Boston is a great place to walk

Hello Everyone! I'm back! What a great time we had up north!

I'm so glad Margaret posted our picture! You can't even see my eyes though! It was bright and my eyes are very light sensitive, especially with contacts in...ah well. We had such fun with Margaret and her DH. Again, it just makes me want to have more gatherings IRL. IDK how we can make that happen, but we really should.

I've rested up just a bit. We moved DH out of his apt up there...that really only involved one evening for disassembling the bed, etc., and one morning's hard work to load up the trailer and the 4Runner. It's never fun to tow a trailer, but I am an excellent packer. Really. It's a gift to do the 3D puzzle work of loading things...DH and DS did most of the moving and I did the packing...it wasn't too bad all in all.

Before I forget...Melody...I hope your surgery tomorrow is routine. And your recovery is speedy.

It's not a cruise and I don't have too many photos but I can share about my trip! I need to get the photos off my phone first...

So first...

Before we went north...there were so many EOY events for DS at school. The Theater Banquet was listed as "semi-formal" so I took the opportunity to wear Margaret's dress:

IMG_1393_zpsxqifztln.jpg

And yes...I still call it Margaret's dress. I LOVE the fact that I call it Margaret's dress, so don't be thinking that I haven't taken ownership of this sweet little dress. I have a thing for chokers these days? This one is a big long suede string with gold ends...you wrap it around and around and tie a bow with it. It may appear tight, but it's really loose. It's a wonderful burgundy/wine color that goes so well with the dress...it was my souvenir from Athens when we went there for All State.

I just wore flat T-strap sandals which were perfectly appropriate for the school related banquet.

Anita! You look marvelous! Love Margaret's dress. I can't wear chokers, but I keep trying, yours looks great.

My surgery is tomorrow & it's not really routine, I'll have 3 retina specialists digging around [emoji849]. Glad I'll be put out. Be back in a few. Melody

Thanks Laurie!

DS and I flew out very late on Wed, May 24. We actually arrived after midnight on Thurs, May 25, so I didn't plan for anything in particular on that day. We ended up going into Philly to do our own personal cheesesteak challenge!

I think this has been shown on TV, but there are two somewhat famous cheesesteak places catty corner from each other:

IMG_1411_zpsglskfofc.png

Pat's and Geno's. This area of Philly is called the Italian Market. Apparently it is one of the oldest and largest open-air markets is the US. We walked all around here.

I didn't take a fashion shot here because I just wore my typical active wear.

On Friday...we toured Princeton. We aren't seriously looking at colleges yet...but we were in the area so we had to take advantage.

I found a write up on The Little Chef, which is a bakery there in Princeton, NJ. I highly recommend it. I had a cute outfit! But I didn't get a photo! *sigh*

Saturday...of Memorial Day Weekend...there was a free Philly Pops concert at The Mann, which is an outdoor amphitheater venue. You only had to reserve a space. There were a few sections that were reserved for military and service men and women...and otherwise, the entire venue was general admission.

I prefer to wear jeans when I know I'm going to be sitting in outdoor seating like this. It was a totally casual event anyway. I'm also wearing a Merona tank is a burnt sienna kind of color...and this is one of my favorite overlayers that I have adopted to wear when I want to be dressier than a hoodie. It's from Anthropologie. The fabric is a kind of novelty sweater knit, so even though it is shaped like a double breasted blazer, it's comfortable like a sweater. The base color is an ivory/cream kind of color with black also woven into it... The black is that kind of brown black though? Not the really dark blue black? And the buttons are a warm pewter kind of button. It generally pairs well with most of my things.

IMG_1444_zpsjqzcu0cz.jpg

This was a good test for these little Clarks I have to see how comfortable they are for walking around. They didn't pass the walking test, meaning that they were fine for the night...but I knew that I wouldn't be able to wear them into NYC.

Melody, good luck tomorrow. You mentioned precious... Two weeks with an eye patch?

Anita you are really looking great. I have that Merona tank and love it. The whole outfit comes together really well.

Your trip is sounding like do much fun! It sounds like you visited many of the places that I want to see.

After thinking a little yesterday and talking to a few friends as well.as people here on this thread, we will definitely be exiting Boston on Friday and then again before the game Saturday.

I have a rough time with my feet, and since my little injury or whatever, I now know why. I often wear shoes like your Clarks but they don't really have much cushioning sometimes and I need that.

Keep your pictodiary coming!

My problem with shoes of that nature (they are actually a little like ballet flats with a V-shaped strap across the top of the foot) is where they cut into your feet. The edge of the topper by my big toe would cut into my foot with every step in a not good way that by the end of the day (I wore them all day to run around stores in Philly and then to the concert) that top part of my foot was irritated. Fortunately, nothing that formed a blister or anything.

The free concert was a good length. About 90 minutes. I highly recommend The Mann as a venue. People chose to sit on the lawn there, bringing in chairs and blankets. Picnics were just fine for this event and they had coolers and all kinds of yummy goodies. We could have spent the time and effort to put together some food for ourselves, but we didn't. Oh well!

But we did have to wake up a bit earlier to head into NYC the next day, which was Sunday.

Margaret is a great host! It worked well for our families to meet for brunch before our 2:30 pm matinee performance of Chicago. I told Margaret that we were more interested in just soaking up the atmosphere of NYC instead of seeing anything touristy...she gave me 4 restaurants to choose from that she and her DH were also interested in trying for brunch.

We opted to go to Parker & Quinn:

https://ingoodcompany.com/parkerandquinn/

It was fab!! It may be difficult to discern, but there are these booths with tufted back cushions tucker behind the round table seating along the wall:

https://ingoodcompany.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/PQ-4.jpg

They are the perfect rectangle shape and seated our party of 5 in spectacular fashion to facilitate everyone getting to chat and have a cozy visit! I thought about asking the server for a picture of our table but really, I was enjoying the visit too much to want to interrupt our conversation's flow. We had such a great time visiting with Margaret and her DH. He is really a gifted conversationalist, which I appreciated because honestly, I never feel like I do conversation well...anyway...

Logistics, for those interested. DH's apt was in Yardley, PA, right across the river from Trenton, NJ. We were advised to use the Hamilton station instead of the Trenton station. That was only a 20 minute drive. Then we took NJTransit, a train into NY Penn Station.

If you pay attention to the schedule, you can see the shorter times traveling for the express trains. Those really are the best if you are wanting to go all the way into the city. It was a 68 minute ride on the express. You can buy round trip tickets when you purchase them, which was super handy.

We were able to just walk from NY Penn to the restaurant.

After a lovely meal, we walked around NYC and made our way to Times Square. We walked past one of the libraries where we posed in front of one of the lions. Margaret said one was named Patience and I can't remember the name of the other:

IMG_1453_zpsw8bynwze.jpg

We had such lovely weather! It's was a partly cloudy day and the sun would peak out. I had several casual options for today. Because the weather was supposed to be so nice...I opted for this nicer peasant top in layered gauze...hoping the sleeves would help screen the sun but not be too warm. These are my Mizzoni Converse...I think Debbie has the same ones? I have that sweater blazer pictured earlier over my arm, which could smarten up my outfit if needed...or if the theater was cold.

So...a word to the wise...or those who seek to be wise when planning to walk/tour around any city of great size. Having been to Chicago recently...and now NYC...you really have to plan your bathrooms. You really do. I'm sorry. It could be TMI, but if you have a restroom available to you, you should use it...even if you don't think you have to...use it...it can be difficult to find a public restroom in a big city. Most are for customers only... So plan accordingly.

So we ended up in Times Square. Margaret already posted the one photo...here's my family:

IMG_1465_zps5pfduzaa.jpg

I had to buy the sunglasses from a street vender. Mine had lost the nose piece and the metal was digging in...I like them though!

If you can see the clock...2:06...we were right around the corner for our Chicago matinee:

IMG_1473_zpsl9m36p0n.jpg

So, I saw Chicago the Musical on the Allure on the TA with Mom and Dad. I'm happy to report that the cruise version of the production was literally, the SAME production. Granted, I think that Chicago is actually well suited for the staging adjustments that might need to be made? But the land version was literally, the same production as the sea version.

So there you go.

I thoroughly enjoyed Chicago the Musical all over again. The music is so good. Fun and entertaining. The theater was a lot more intimate than I expected it to be. The cruise ship theater was bigger! We had great seats. I could choose between front row of the balcony or toward the back of the floor. I was more concerned about seeing around heads and opted for the front row above. The only thing that is bothersome about being higher for this type of production is the fact that the stage performers look out into the floor level audience and not above...at least the don't look "up" often...so if you are bothered by that in a musical production, you should keep that in mind.

Also...when you see a matinee, if there is an evening performance, the house workers can be slightly rude in encouraging the audience members to clear the theater to prepare it for the evening performance...

On our trip...we were very in to checking out used music shops. Not for instruments...for CDs. We hit a couple in Philly...one in Princeton (the best one!!)...and had found a couple in Greenich Village that we wanted to visit. So we hopped on the Subway to head down to the Village.

We hit up the stores...walked around to check out the neighborhood...NYU is right there all over, which was a different thought in a college campus...similar to Georgia State in Atlanta...all incorporated into the surrounding city. We didn't tour it officially or really didn't do more than pay attention to the banners and the names on buildings...

We parked it on a bench in Washington Square Park to check out Yelp reviews for all the restaurants around and pick one for dinner. Margaret had said earlier that one of the fun aspects of all the parks all over the city is that there are often musicians playing in them...and Washington didn't disappoint. They had some jazzy strings playing.

We opted to eat here:

http://www.okiniinyc.com/

Which had well deserved good reviews!! We were pleased to be eating in a relatively empty restaurant, able to easily have conversation...and good service...and excellent food. With no wait.

After dinner...it was time to head back home. We caught the subway back up to NY Penn and then our train home.

A note about the NJT trains at Penn. Some of you know this, I'm sure...but for those that don't...they don't post the track that the train you want is on until it is ready to board. There are passenger waiting areas where everyone is watching the screen in the manner that people watch the floors go by on an elevator. The track is finally posted and then it is a mad dash to get to the train and board it! And I do mean a MAD dash...as in crazy people literally RUNNING to the doors to the track posted and down the stairs/escalator to the train.

Just nuts.

Well, I'm glad if I was off the boards for a bit and came back online to catch up--today was the day. Anita, DS is grown! We've seen him go from a younger fella to--well!--grown! I know you said he was shaving, but...well...I can't explain it. He sure can't wear short pants in the dining room anymore, can he! LOL

So very glad you and Margaret were able to reconnect. I agree that we should really make an effort to get as many together as would want to participate, but I know everyone has a very busy life and schedule. Margaret, I like the tops--can't remember the brand name--and wish they used fire colors occasionally. I'm thinking they make the perfect effortlessly comfortable top, right?.

Yes, I have the Missoni Converse and I still wear mine too. Love those shoes.

Laurie, I thoroughly enjoy your outfit and jewelry posts. Keep them coming. Our next cruise is February, so I can be vicariously excited with you as you plan. Enjoy your game weekend in Boston. I hope your feet hold up well.

SSally, glad your transatlantic wardrobe and the trip itself was good.

Think I'm caught up.

OMG Debbie...he's been shaving since 8th grade! I took another photo of him on the trip and it is SO FUNNY. He bears a striking resemblance to Bo Duke from the Duke's of Hazard! Except he has more facial hair!!:')

I'm glad you popped back on to get caught up!

So...

Monday, Memorial Day was very rainy. And we had nothing planned. Originally, the rain was supposed to hit on Sunday...but we were so fortunate that it held off and let us have great touring weather...

We slept in...we had smoothies for breakfast...DS got us started on a Scrubs marathon on the Comedy Channel:o

I've met several people over the years from NJ and up around there...and one thing that they all talk about missing are the delis from up north. So we knew that we wanted to have a deli experience...

We found one open and close by...

And now I understand.

Delis up north. I have never experienced anything quite like it. For real.

IDK if what we ended up at was what others refer to when they talk about "delis up north". The one we went to had bread delivered daily from a bakery that they mentioned by name... And then there was the meat counter that looked like a grocery store in and of itself...except it was slightly different because the meat itself was displayed like a typical deli counter in a grocery but was so much more "homemade" looking somehow with all the roasted meats, which were advertised to be roasted on site.

And the display of premade salads, etc.

And the other side of the deli looked a bit like a convenience store/travel stop with cooler fridges of all different soft drinks, etc. And then shelves of chips in the middle.

And tables.

And the dude was so casual. Order the sandwiches...which were hand written on a gynormous black board...labeled with numbers and the most wonderful combinations...pick out your drink and your chips. Pay for whatever we picked up to eat later...

I tell you what. The people were all actually really really nice. Everywhere we went...in all the stores...in all the restaurants...

Now on the street...different story...a little more, get out of my way...I have somewhere to go...but otherwise...

Then we decided to hit up a secondhand store to see if we could score a leather jacket for DS. It's just a thing...long story, but anyway...we ended up in Goodwill...and wouldn't you know it...we found a Guess brand fake leather jacket for 25% off $20 in great condition that happened to be his size.

Nice.

I told DS that they call it "Vegan Leather" now.;)

Honestly, that does sound a bit nicer than Pleather too....

Whatever.

Back at the apt...I think this is the night that we stayed in and streamed Dr Strange on Netflix, which we have never seen and been wanting to see for a long time.

It was a great day.

Tuesday morning we had an appointment to meet with a professor from the composition department at Princeton. Especially for composition, the department and even the specific prof that would be your mentor/adviser is as important, if not more important, than the school. It's just good practice to meet with people anyway...and so we had contacted this one prof that we thought would be a good fit for DS and arranged for a visit with him.

So we headed back to Princeton on Tuesday...and were able to eat at the Indian buffet that we missed on Friday. And then we lazed around that afternoon, knowing Wednesday would be a big day.

Aw! Thanks Sally! I think he's pretty handsome...but really, it's his sweet spirit that attracts the girls.

Wednesday was our ballet at the Met day...seeing Gisele at 2:00 pm with Misty Copeland as Gisele!!

We decided to head into the city for breakfast...and to walk around Central Park before the ballet, which seems a bit odd...thinking about walking around on a warm day before a "fancy" event...but we wanted to walk earlier in the day, not later...

We were very casual with our plans here...and I figured out where to go while we were on the train. We ended up here:

http://www.lepainquotidien.com/our-philosophy/#.WTcZ3mjyuCg

In the location one block south of the south Central Park entrance. SO good! It was so good...and the menu so interesting to me...I would think of buying their cookbook...but instead, I think I'll just search for recipes online and try them out.

After our late breakfast we walked into Central Park. I had a clue how big it was...but really...it's huge. You have to have an idea of what you want to see. I just wanted to see some iconic scenes from movies...so I wound our steps up to and through The Mall, through the Minton Tile Ceiling area of Bethesda Terrace, to the terrace and the fountain, and the Loeb Boathouse (the lake and the boats too) and then over to Strawberry Fields...then down past Tavern on the Green to get to the Lincoln Center...

There was a simple Dixie band playing at the south entrance to the mall...too funny to come from the south to hear that in NYC...

Here is DH and I in the Mall:

IMG_1501_zps7d7otdzh.jpg

I'm wearing sandals...those new ones I posted recently. Slim cargos...the button down blouse with gold buttons...nice enough, but not really fancy...both DH and DS wore black jeans and a button down.

There were artists along the mall...painters selling lovely originals that they actually had printed in ink on canvas. I've purchased these before in stores and it's a wonderful compromise to an original oil while not being as flat and lifeless as a print. Not in my price range though...

There were singers under the Minton Tile Ceiling. The acoustics in there were fun with the acapela.

DH and DS at Bethesda Terrace:

IMG_1505_zpskbxiwzho.jpg

Even though Strawberry Fields has some signs indicating that it is a Quiet Zone...there was a young man on acoustic guitar singing and trying to lead a sing along to Beatles and John Lennon songs...

You can pick out DH and DS by their clothing...but I also include this so everyone can see just how casual everyone was walking around Central Park... (and btw...DS is sitting as he normally does, which is SO Type 4):

IMG_1511_zpsd7ftwamx.jpg

The ballet was lovely beyond words...Misty Copeland floats and is stunning in her strength and ease of movement and lightness and sheer effortlessness... The Met is a beautiful venue...

Interesting to note that we were trying to arrive around 1:15 pm...

We were early, which was fine because there was a high school jazz band playing in the courtyard type area in front of The Met in the Lincoln Center Plaza area. That was fun to hear and DS had to navigate through many, many memory links to figure out the name of the song they were playing (which he has played before...).

We headed over to get out of the sun...and use the facilities, etc., but they weren't letting anyone into the theater yet... They didn't let us in until closer to 1:30 pm, which I thought was so odd...

Anyway...

A marvelous matinee...

And when it was out, we were ready for some food...but we had no reservations... and it was an odd time...some places were open yet for dinner (it wasn't quite 4:30 pm)...

I fought getting smart phones for a long time...and we've only had ours for just over 18 months...but they are the best, most helpful travel tool.

My men wanted Italian...so I found this place:

http://www.joannenyc.com/

Which happens to be the restaurant owned by Lady Gaga's parents... It opened at 4:30... and they could fit us in...and we sat on that first table on that home page picture on the bottom left...

The patio there is lovely...but the inside was also very cute and homey. I later read that the critics pretty much disdain this restaurant but many locals like it...it had good Yelp reviews. I will only agree with the critics in that the complementary rolls weren't that wonderful but the entrees were very good. It wasn't fancy food...just good food.

And then we were pretty tired and ready to be home again...so we caught the Subway back down to Penn and caught the train home.

We ended up having the best conversation with a young man, a recent father (11 months) who lives in Philly and does the commute by train into NYC about 3X a week. Like I said...we really found the people around us to be quite friendly and talkative...

To wrap up our trip north...

We had tried to get a tour for Juilliard, but were wait listed. And then I found out on Wednesday evening that we did make the Thursday tour. This was actually a fun reveal because Juilliard is literally across the street from The Met...and seeing it when we went to the ballet, we were very curious about it.

So Thursday, we head BACK into the city to tour Juilliard...

We didn't really do much else because we had to pick up the U-Haul trailer that evening. Then we spent time that evening disassembling a couple furniture items...and doing some basic packing. We loaded the trailer Friday morning...and cleaned out the apt and hit the road back for home.

I did forget to mention that on one of our stay at home evenings, we ordered pizza... which was amazing.

With regards to food...the thing that is the biggest stand out to our family regarding restaurants is the lack of ease in finding franchise and chain restaurants. So many more Mom and Pop type places or family places or just independent places. SO MANY more. And this is a GOOD thing! And pizza up there is just a whole different animal...way more common to eat pizza at a restaurant than have it delivered...which is like opposite world to every other place I've lived...

And to recap...

Wednesday/Thursday - travel

Thursday - Philly cheesesteak battle, Italian Market

Friday - Princeton

Saturday - Philly Pops

Sunday - Margaret Brunch, Chicago matinee

Monday - no plan

Tuesday - no plan originally, but ended up meeting with Prof

Wednesday - Gisele ballet

Thursday - no plan other than trailer, ended up touring Juilliard

Friday - pack and drive home

And that was our trip up north.

Another note was that we did laundry (DH had w/d in the apt) on Monday & Tuesday evening.

Not that this will surprise you, but I was truly hoping there was laundry in the mix somewhere!!! :D:D

I loved hearing about your trip. I really would like to go back to that area sometime. I want to go through Central Park, the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island. I want to see a show, eat at some local places. It is very much on my list. My TA always tells me to just fly down Jet Blue because we will get there so fast and you can get fares all the time for about $50.00. Then, for the experience of Grand Central Station, take the train back to Syracuse. We are train buffs, so there is an appeal to us in this.

Today, I'm finishing up for Boston. We leave in the morning!

I had a great but busy week. Tuesday, it was cold and rainy the entire day, but it was also the day of Corporate Challenge. I walked, not jogged or ran, due to my foot. I kind of favored it, not because it was hurting, but because I was afraid I would hurt it. For walking, seeing that this was just over 5 miles, I was told to expect it to take an hour and half. I decided to walk fast, and my official time was just under 57 minutes so I was happy.

It wasn't good favoring the foot, because I was walking with more pressure on one side. Can you believe I got a huge blood blister on the bottom of my toe? But it feels better now, and I'm walking well so this weekend should be easy.

I will take lots of pictures!

Completely different subject, but I was in Marshalls to make a quick return, and noticed they got some new dresses in. One that caught my eye was a matte jersey formal. Not a dressy formal, but much too nice to call a maxi. I'll try to get a picture, but it is teal, and it was $39.99. Honestly, I love it. I'm telling myself I don't need it, but when it comes to my formal night dresses, most are still waiting for adjustments. I have two ready to go, and another one I would need to try on to see since it's been a while and I'm not sure if it needs adjusting. So really, for $40, I can't complain. I
