Any tips on the best inside or oceanview cabins on the majesty? We sailed on her many many years ago and from memory we had an obstructed oceanview on deck 8. Anyone had an unobstructed oceanview or a good inside?

We just had an oceanview on deck 9 and we had a pretty unobstructed view out the window. You couldn't really look down, but you could see out.

It would be deck 9 SOV (even if obstructed) or nothing for me on that class of ship.

These are the cabins on Deck 8 that have minimal obstruction. The SO on deck 9 are larger, though.

 

 

Port Forward: 8508, 8520, 8530, 8532, 8534, 8536

Port Aft: 8538, 8548, 8550, 8560, 8572, 8584, 8596

Starboard Forward: 8008, 8020, 8030, 8032, 8034, 8036

Starboard Aft: 8038, 8048, 8050, 8060, 8072, 8084, 8096

We just had an oceanview on deck 9 and we had a pretty unobstructed view out the window. You couldn't really look down, but you could see out.

 

The SOV cabins on deck 9 have been our cabins of choice and they have a good view outwardly, but if you look down you see the top of the lifeboats....but you do have a nice view of the sea. I don't believe the sofa bed in the cabin (9070) that we have generally had, was a sleepsofa.

 

On our last cruise on Her Majesty we had a JS and it definitely had a sleepsofa.

Inexplicably, the largest and best standard cabins on the ship, the SOV's on deck 9, do not have sofa beds or pullmans. Regular OV's have pullmans. JS's on deck 10 have sofabeds.

As you can see, all Deck 9 cabins (SOV) are for two passengers only. (no symbols in the cabin indicating any extra berths)

Funny, I had 8508 on my last Majesty cruise. And it's true. Less obstruction.

We enjoyed the space in our Deck 9 SOV. Had a decent view.
