We just got upgraded to a The Haven Spa Suite with Balcony!

Hi all! We just upgraded to the Haven Spa Suite with Balcony (H9). I've been calling for weeks trying to get upgraded through upsell, and today it was actually affordable. So if anyone is getting discouraged, just wait until the week of your sailing and I bet you can get a great deal.

So my question is, what should we do now that we have The Haven? I haven't done much research on it, since I didn't want to tempt myself or be upset if we didn't get upsold to one of those cabins. How is the restaurant? The pool area? What should we do in the spa? Are there any other perks like wifi, free spa services, etc?

Just looking for tips from anyone who has been in The Haven before!!

Thanks in advance!

~Heather

We are in the Haven on The Getaway in May. We are in H9. We are supposed to get the unlimited drink package, the meal package, 250 min of Wi Fi and $50 off 4 shore excursions. We have never cruised Norwegian before so we are looking forward to it!.

We were on the Escape a few weeks ago. We were really impressed with the service in the upper area around the Courtyard and the sun deck. The service in the restaurant and bar were also excellent.

We really enjoyed eating dinner in the Haven. We liked the new menu (as opposed to the old Haven menu) and we enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere.

Enjoy your trip!

These perks are great.

But one doesn't get them with an upsell. One only gets to keep your original perks and offers.

If you originally book in the H category at the full price, then you get ALL perks.

Looking forward to reading more...we are in a H8 (deluxe spa suite) this Oct, and have never done the haven before. Lots of info in the haven website is not updated, last I checked, and does not list the Escape at all.

We were in haven on getaway and it was the smartest thing we ever did! We got most of our drinks there as it was quick personalized service and always great quality. We ate lunch and breakfast from the restaurant most days and dinner two nights. The food quality was excellent. Enjoy your cruise!!!!

Do you know the hours for breakfast and lunch in the Haven restaurant? Do they stop service or does it just change over? Looking forward to our first Haven on the Getaway. Love to hear any tips from you who have been there before.

On the Getaway breakfast was served from 7-10, lunch from 12-2, and dinner 5:30-10

On sea days breakfast changes to 7:30-10:30

This was in December. Not sure if anything's changed since.

I received my 2nd upsell email in just as many weeks, also for the Haven. We sail on April 9th on The Escape. I'm going to try and hold out for a another 2 weeks....the price is coming down each week, so maybe. May I ask how much you upgraded for? We are unable to go into the Haven Spa Suite as we have young kids, but would consider the 2 bed room family suite or the courtyard suite if the price was right. ;)

I also got an upsell offer for our upcoming Breakaway cruise. Some deal . . .not. $1,000 pp upgrade (for an additional whopping $3,000 total!). Ridiculous. So I, too, am curious about what the OP paid that constitutes a great deal. I've seen mention of some upsells going for an additional $500 pp and I think I saw mention of one going for even less than that!

I just don't think an additional $3,000 is any kind of a deal so I will happily keep my M6 Large Balcony Mini Suite.

Am wondering if I can expect add'l offers to come my way before we sail in April. And, frankly, from what I can see, the available balconies in the Haven are miniscule compared to what we have. Of course, the Haven cabins with the truly large balconies are all sold out at this point. So it would have to be a truly phenomenal price to get me to move from my large balcony to a regular-sized balcony even if it's in the Haven.

I had been calling for 4 weeks...got anywhere from $1500-$2000pp to upgrade. This Monday, the offer was $750pp so $1500 total. Considering we did not pay much to get a guaranteed balcony, this made it afford to be in the haven for less than what it would be for 1 person! I called in and within 10 minutes, one of the two rooms left was gone so we jumped on this room. We board the ship tomorrow so I hope it doesn't disappoint!!

Way to go!!!!!! You will have a amazing time.

Enjoy the thermal spa as you get that with your room in addition to all the other Haven amenities.

The Haven restaurant has a excellent Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. You can dine in your room with free room service if you want to.

Congrats!!! we were just off the Breakaway...in a two bedroom family villa (review is out there under breakaway thread) my wife loved the bar in the Haven...we ordered the Guava Berry mojito everytime we walked by the bar....it was amazeballs!!!!!

congrats and welcome to the club!!!

After your cruise you will only want the Haven experience...

Make sure you utilize the concierge and butler....they are all well trained to deliver the utmost quality and level of service of any 5 star land hotel on earth...

if you want it ....just ask....thats my motto...

Best,

Mark

You are going to love the H8 - it's the only one on any NCL ship!!! The bedroom is about the same size as a normal H9, but then you have a fab livingroom as well. It was definitely bigger than some of the other Haven suites that were much more expensive :) We enjoyed it for 10 days on the TA....it was tough to go back to the normal H9 when I sailed again in Jan lol

As for perks - the only thing you have special is access to the thermal lounge - which is nice on bad weather days. You don't get any discounts on treatments or anything. There is an access door that the end of the hallway that you can use to get into the spa without having to go out into the main hallway and through reception. It's a nice little secrete way in.

You definitely don't need vibe passes- between the spa and the haven, you will have plenty of places to escape the crowds, don't waste the money!!

One of the best perks of the Escape Haven Spa rooms is the room steward Julito. He's super friendly and very helpful!! Definitely one of the best room stewards I've had.

Also, for the haven in general....the concierge Adrian and his staff - esp assistant Karen - are great! The haven restaurant is very good. The best steak I had on board was there, and the breakfasts are my favorites
