Orator Posted March 20, 2016 #51 Share Posted March 20, 2016 Looking forward to the day when I am able to "land" one of those fantastic deals. Question, the choice air, if you book through a TA can you book choice air through Celebrity? Yes
grandgeezer Posted March 20, 2016 #52 Share Posted March 20, 2016 Yes This is our 7th transatlantic next month. All have been booked through an online travel agency and all the air has been booked through choiceair.com. All you need is your cruise booking number. iancal Posted March 21, 2016 #53 Share Posted March 21, 2016 We often go on extended vacations in Souther Europe. We keep our land travels flexible. We sometimes land a last minute Med cruise. Last time it was an RCI Med cruise that also had a great price on our one way ticket home. We are retired. We only look at cruises inside the final payment window whose fares have been reduced. lulurobby Posted March 21, 2016 #54 Share Posted March 21, 2016 I also check UK and USA web sites don't forget to watch the £ v the $ that's when we decide which for us the best option. Our last cruise we used the UK booking agent as the offer was better so you can get the deals but sadly no price drop and all the other upgrades, once you gave paid in £ we don't check price again as there is no point as you can't do anything, unless someone on here knows a better way. And that is the difference with booking over here: the inflexibility ;). By the time you've added the generous OBC amount from the US TAs, the difference is usually minimal. If it's a last minute booking, it's possibly worth it. But as you so rightly point out, don't expect to be able to obtain price drops, new promos or alterations to the booking without incurring a penalty. And as for GTYs, you HAVE to keep your original allocation - no swapping and changing like in the US ;).
