Pipes

My DH smokes a pipe and would like to take it with us on our next cruise, does anyone know the rules on this.

I would assume that pipes follow the same rules as cigars, but don't hold me to this.

Wasn't sure about this because they need to be cleaned to get rid of the smell of tobacco after he smokes them.

Unless the rules have changed, pipes and cigars can only by smoked in the cigar lounge. This lounge has different names depending on what ship you are on. On some it is called the Churchill Lounge. On others it is called Snookers. On others it is called The Speak Easy.

Do you know if they keep the pipes in that room or are they allowed to bring them back to the room.

Like any other personal property he would take the pipe with him when he's done smoking it.

He is willing to leave his pipe in a room somewhere for the duration of a cruise, but not his bags in a bus for a few hours?

I am a pipe smoker with 20 cruises on Princess. I take 3 pipes with me in a leather case. I take it to the smoking lounge when I want to smoke a pipe and take it back to the cabin when finished. Tell your DH to take his pipes and enjoy them. He will meet a lot of nice people in the lounge and also can get to know some of the crew who smoke. Talk to the crew as they enjoy meeting new people and exchanging stories about where they are from and where they have visited.
