My wife and I our going on our first Princess cruise. Now this is not our first cruise it will be our 5th. We love the night life, broadway shows, karaoke, and food. So can somebody share some of the hot spots on Ruby Princess for what we are interested in? Also we are in Cabin L234 if anybody has stayed in this state room please share. Thank you so much in advance.:D

Normally, the piano entertainer in Crooner's is good. Afterwards go to Skywalkers.

The Karaoke schedule will be listed in the Patter.

The IC (International Café) has tasty offerings 24 hours a day.

Look forward to having a great time. :)

Yikes! You sound like you love Carnival!

Be prepared, Princess is wonderful, however, not a "party" vibe type of cruise. Princess is more sedate, however, I've seen Skywalkers being very busy. Not sure you'd enjoy the Crooner's type of entertainment, however, they make mean martinis.

Princess also doesn't have water slides and hairy chest contests. There will be production shows, comedians, etc. However, not sure if they can be compared to actual Broadway shows.

IMHO, food is much better than on Carnival... After 2 cruises with Carnival, we decided to stick mostly with Princess, with a HAL cruise thrown in...

Karaoke is held in Explorer's lounge usually, and at least twice on a 7 night sailing. Lots of late night dancing and socializing in Skywalkers lounge. We're night owls and have no problem finding like minded folks on Princess and having a good time. Shows aren't Broadway themed per se, but definitely singers and dancers with lots of music, props, etc - good fun.

Not sure who you've sailed before, but I'm sure you'll find Princess food quite tasty, and service to be very good overall. More laid back decor and such than RCI or Carnival, less crowded and more intimate dining rooms than Celebrity or RCI, etc.. Overall decor of the ships is understated elegant, a very comfortable feeling throughout.

As you've cruised before, overall the mass market lines are more alike than different. It's details that make up the difference, ie activities - and yes, Princess has pool games: boat building, golf chipping, Mr Princess or whatever it's called, etc. (can depend on the sailing), trivia, lectures, movies, etc. We enjoy the Movies Under the Stars experience on Princess - recent movies, blankets to cuddle up, popcorn and cookies available, etc. - good fun.

All in all, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourselves. There's plenty of nightlife, even for us night owls, along with plenty to do - or not - during the day!

We have been on the Ruby a few times and enjoy the activities you have listed. For theater shows. Magic to Do is on the Ruby. It is great. Get there early, even for the late show. Skywalkers opens at 10:00 pm and we usually hang out there for a couple of hours. Earlier in the evening, there is usually a band in Club Fusion. Karaoke is usually there as well. We have often seen comedians in the Explorers lounge. For a more relaxing evening, check out Movies Under the Stars. Enjoy!

Each evening you will receive a Princess Patter in your cabin that lists all the activities and times for the following day. Review this. Events are not the same, may not be in the same location every day, and the times move around. You can also download the Princess@Sea app (no charge) on your phone or tablet and get the same information shown in the Princess Patter plus have intraship texting ability.

On the Ruby the shows are in the Princess Theater and there can be 2 or 3 shows per night. The production shows are not 'Broadway' shows, but themed musical review shows. On a 7 day cruise there will probably be two different shows. The 8:15 show is the most crowded and you have to arive 30 to 45 mins early to get a seat. Other times are not so crowded. Other evenings there will be guest entertainers, such as comics, singers, musicians, magic, things like that. Some of these shows can also be crowded at the 8:15 time slot.

Other evening activities can include, deck parties (warm weather), Piazza dance parties, trivia games, cruise classic theme nights, game shows like the marriage game and others. There will be live music in the Piazza, Explorer's Lounge, Club Fusion, Wheelhouse Bar, all evening. Most evenings Crooner's Bar will have a Piano Player/Singer, starting somewhere around 9/10pm depending on what other activities are scheduled in the Piazza. Crooner's can get very crowded if the entertainer is really good. Some are better and more popular than others. Skywalker's Night Club opens around 10pm and has a DJ.

Have fun.
