Gibraltar activity

Our late summer cruise will be docking at Gibraltar.....would appreciate any thoughts on best practices for the day....including historical and quick bites

We absolutely loved Gibraltar. Find a tour that takes you to BOTH sets of tunnels. And enjoy the thrill of walking across the runway at the tiny airport. And eat some fish and chips

Great port of call, any tour that takes in top of the rock, tunnels, far side of the island, and you will be fine,

 

allow time for down town shopping, plenty little places in old center to grab a bite to eat.

CC partners....thank you for the great comments, I especially found Tom's port guide very worthwhile. I have always been intrgued and enjoyed monkeys in Asian and southern ports but am a little timid about these apes! Time will tell!

Have met the apes a few times, no issues, but follow guides instructions,

 

never have any food on you or in your bags they will be off with your stuff

 

within seconds, same with cameras, sun glasses hang bags, these guys are the

 

best pick pockets in the world, were you buy tickets to go inside giant cave

 

they sell ice cream, never walk out side with one, the apes love ice cream and

 

you will be mugged by one with in seconds.

Hate the apes--too habituated to humans and they creeped me out. I stayed in the van.

Gibraltar was a great port for me. Loved the tunnel tour and down in the village are some very good places to eat

Top of the Rock was a highlight. The apes trying to take my DW's fanny pack where she had some Jolly Ranchers was next to crazy. I agree they are a little creepy.
