videolady Posted May 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2016 (edited) We are taking our first cruise onboard the Princess Ruby. I recently heard that they keep the internal temp of the ship on the cooler side. Am trying to figure out how to dress. Any suggestions would be helpful. paul929207 Posted May 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2016 I am comfortable. My wife always has a sweater with her when we are inside the ship. She doesn't always need, but uses it often

brianlojeck Posted May 10, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2016 The room AC can get downright cold if you crank it. The public areas are, to me, very comfortable, but my wife likes a sweater. It's basic office room-temp.
SadieN Posted May 10, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 10, 2016 If arriving early to the showroom it can be cold. Once 700+ of your new friends arrive, it'll warm right up. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
skynight Posted May 10, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 10, 2016 Each cabin has its own thermostat to control the cabin temp. Some indoor public areas like the theater can be cool sometimes and you would be comfortable with a sweater, or zippered sweatshirt.
Floflegs Posted May 10, 2016 #7 Share Posted May 10, 2016 Take a pashmina in the evening. Easy to use or fold away.
timtrek Posted May 10, 2016 #8 Share Posted May 10, 2016 Just got off the Ruby on Saturday. The Princess Theater got pretty warm during the shows - lots of people in there - and the casino was on the warm side when full. Other than those rooms the rest of the ship was fairly cool. A light sweater should fit the bill.

lovevacadays Posted May 10, 2016 #10 Share Posted May 10, 2016 I find the temps to be just fine with what I'm wearing but I have traveled with a few that take a sweater to be on the safe side. I like to be a little on the cool side. We are all different in what is cool or warm to us so I say, layers are always good.:):):)
Alaskan Joe Posted May 10, 2016 #11 Share Posted May 10, 2016 Impossible to answer this question. One person's hot is another person's cold. I agree whole heartily Sascol, because my wife will ask how it feel outside I will say its not that warm. We will then go out and she will be upset with me because she is roasting ("I knew I should put shorts on and not listen to you"). Now I tell her to go out see for herself, I think its cool!!! ginbuck Posted May 10, 2016 #12 Share Posted May 10, 2016 I always take a pashmina to any of the activities in the evening. Some of the bars are freezing. And it is easy to carry one around.
A.stew12305 Posted May 11, 2016 #13 Share Posted May 11, 2016 I'm always too warm, everywhere. It's not to the uncomfortable point on the ship, but I will often go outside at night to cool down. Especially if I was just somewhere crowded like the theater.

Lucky TGO Posted May 11, 2016 #16 Share Posted May 11, 2016 The public areas to me are very comfortable. Your cabin just set it for the temperature you like. Tony

jdellachiesa Posted May 12, 2016 #18 Share Posted May 12, 2016 Just off the Ruby this last Saturday. I found the ship to be warm in many areas compared to the other ships I've been on. The AC in the stateroom barely worked and when I put my hand to the vent, hardly any air was moving ... I'm not sure if that's a pattern on this ship, or just my experience! Who knows ;)
